Find a doctor; they can heal your radiation for 100 caps.

go to the guy in goodsprings where u start out he will heal ur health for 50 and rad for 100

You can always quick-travel back to the original Doctor.
He can cure anything/everything (for caps).
See if it will let you use his chemistry set...

Sleeping won't do anything for your radiation (or anything else but your sleep meter, for that matter).

Incorrect. Sleeping will restore your HP. But, yes, does nothing for RADs
