The cheapest potential tablet I'd get is the Acer Iconia Tab A100, but I have a feeling the reviews of it are going to be bad, and given Acer's track record, it's probably going to be bad.

The tablet on the market right now I have my eye on is the Asus Transformer. The new Asus Slider also may pique my interest if the price is right when it comes out in the US.

The one you linked seems to be a crap tablet made by a nobody company.

That looks really thick. Also, it's a pretty small screen compared to other tablets.

My dad got the Motorola Xoom through work. I love it, better than the iPad. But then again, its $500.

yeah that's the one my friend has and it's what made me want a tablet. but almost all the reviews from sites i went to are positive about it. 7 inch screen really isn't that small for what your paying for it. and i already found the firmware update that lets me get android market and i'll get amazon market and i'll try to fiure out how to upgrade it to android 3.0 AKA Honeycomb.

The only reputable reviews I can find for it are on Amazon, of which a third are 1 or 2 star reviews. For what you're paying for, you aren't getting anything of value IMO (unless, like the reviews said, you want an ebook reader, but in which case there are similarly priced better alternatives). The tablet is seriously underpowered compared to others, and has an all-around bad configuration IMO.

If you want something in the 7'' market, the cheapest good option is taking a Nook Color and dual-booting Android with it. Dual-booting is free if you do it yourself, otherwise it's $50 to buy Nook2Android

You can't get 3.0 on there. There's no 3rd party builds of 3.0, so it can't be done. Not to mention the tablet doesn't meet the specifications of 3.0, so 3.0 would run like utter crap on the thing.

abunch of the reviews on amazon rated it low because they couldn't type on the resistive touchscreen and they used em for work i'm just gonna use it as an internet browser and app player. and why did you doubleqoute me? lol. if i can't get 3.0 i'll get it as high as it can with this device.

Wow, someone with confirmation bias before even buying the product. The thing is worse than a good many smart phones.

One would think that not being able to type on a resistive screen would be a major problem for someone looking to use it as a web browser.

It makes it obvious what part of the post I'm actually responding to ;)

You're obviously already set on buying it, and apparently not a thing anyone says to you is going to change your mind, so why are you even asking? Since no amount of reason is making you reconsider, just buy it.

well the reasons you provided aren't really a big deal to me, i actually considered other tablets like the coby kyros but i remembered how crappy there mp3 players are so i said no. and the superpad, and many others maybe i'll just ask at radioshack. and the reason i made this thread was for people who owned this one to reply but it didn't turn out that way.

If I were you, I'd listen to what DEFRON is saying, that tablet is utter crap. If you are lucky you can often find a Nook Color refurb for as low as 180.00$. I myself, had a Nook Color and absolutely loved it. The tablet you want has horrible specs, won't run the latest Android, and is from a pretty crap company. If you buy it, you are making a very large mistake, but do what you will.
