Customizing item

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:00 am

OK so I am a newbie to using GECK, but I have used the editor in TES IV Oblivion so I am somewhat familiar with how it works sorta kinda.

I figured out how to copy an item (gun) and edit the copy, and saved a new plugin file.
However when I go to add the item in game (using player.additem [id]), it seems to work but it is glitched.
The name is blank, and there is no pic of the item, or action when I left click.

I just copied the Ranger Sequoia revolver, and buffed out the stats on it, just to get my feet wet. Nothing fancy really.
I made sure the mod file appears below the main data file FalloutNV.esm in the data files dialog screen.

I would appreciate any pointers.

I am able to use mods downloaded from the Nexus site.

No help??

I have sifted through the gamesas GECK wiki, which hasn't been updated to FO:NV by the way (last I checked), and it doesn't really tell you how to place a custom item into the world.
Maybe it is some simple thing I just overlooked.
But I haven't found it yet.

All I want to do is copy an existing item, edit it, and then be able to either add it to my inventory or put is somewhere in the world where I can find it.

Thanks.
