Daedra Hearts; where to find them?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:01 am

Are they something you generally find at random and in some quests? Or is there a specific type of place to find these rare items?

you can buy them from alchemists, or they often turn up on quests. there is one that is easy to steal in jorrvaskr and the mehrunes dagon quest will lead you to at least 4.

At level 20 you get a quest about a museum. Following that questline should give you some dremora to kill (though not sure if you kill the museum owner whether that's true or not).

Also, you can pick up some from doing the Azura's Star quest.

4 can be taken off dremora lords at mehrune dagons shrine.

The owner of the Sleeping giant inn at Riverwood sells 1-2 usually

Nirn or nirth or whatever sells one at the college of Winterhold

One spawns on the table in the hall of vigilance

One spawns in Jorvasskr on a table at the end of the hall

I can never find them either. I check with the Alchemist in each town as I go through. However, you don't really need many; enough to finish your suit of armor and make a few weapons...

Thanks all. I'm still new so I suppose for questions like these I should go to the UESP and Wiki first. I did read over there that a black soul gem and a human heart can be turned into a deadric heart. But the funny thing is that human hearts are almost just as rare. At least with daedric hearts merchants sell them, human hearts only have 11 guaranteed locations and then you're left to chance to find them in certain spots, and no merchants ever sell human hearts.

But, like wachamacallit says, you realistically only need 5 or 6. 4 for armor and maybe 2 for weapons (I like to dual wield war axes).

Human hearts are easier to find on high level necromancers and in vampire dens.

I haven't noticed a place to transform the hearts. Learn something new every day.

To transform the hearts you use the atronach forge beneath the college at winterhold.

thats pretty cool. do you have to have a certain level to do that? i know to forge daedric armor there you have to be level 90 conjuration or something.

I just read in the UESP that the atronach forge requires the sigil stone in order to make daedra hearts. And you get that by doing the Conjuration Ritual Spell quest, and that requires a level 90 conjuration. So, I guess us non conjurers are S.O.L.

It isn't stealing if you are the leader of the Companions. Plus that one regen's every 30 game days.

I've found them in some necromancer dungeons, maybe conjurer too. Like Illinalta's Deep and Kilkreath Temple.
