Daedric and Dragon

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:47 am

Daedric hearts shouldn't be harder to find than dragon bones/scales, if dragon smithing is higher level than Daedric smithing. I have 90 + bones and scales (each). I've only found 7 Daedric hearts (needed for Daedric armor). Daedric smithing requires 90 smithing skill...dragon smithing requires 100. Lower level requirements should be easier to obtain than higher leveled requirements.

But besides the logic of it, the bigger annoyance is Daedric armor looks so much better than Dragonplate armor, But now I need to get upgraded enchants, and I don't have Daedric hearts, and I do have tons of dragon bones/scales. But dragonplate is UGLY. And the black and red Daedric armor is WICKED!

It's a great game, but that's one of the many (but not TOO many) things that are stupid.

Anyone know of any mods that address this issue? Like maybe exchanging the tree position requirements and stats of Dragon with Daedric. Or maybe just a simple cosmetic mod that makes Dragonplate look like Daedric armor. Yeah, that would be good enough, without changing a bunch of stats and tree requirements around. Just make them look the same.

Or am I the only person who cares? Have't seen any other requests or complains about it.

Why are you complaining? If you want to wear Daedric Armor, wear that and don't bother with the Dragon Armor perk.

Because Dragon armor is the best armor, but it looks ugly, and Daedric armor is the second best armor, but looks good. I want the good looking armor to be the best. I'd thought that was clear in my post.
And furthermore, the way it is now is illogical in any case. What is easier to get is better protection than what is harder to get :)

no daedric is the best armor actually

u just need to buy/find the hearts I have a mod that gives alchemy shops more ingredients (just a little more) but they are kinda expensive (700 gold or something for one I think) also some quests provide hearts from daedra :P

Technically, Dragonscale armor's the best. Lighter, and still able to reach armor cap. Daedric has the highest armor rating possible, but it's also the heaviest.

indeed but u can save up on perk points by avoiding putting too many into heavy armor (the one that adds #% to armor value)

That's a good point. I tend to go the right path through smithing to get to Dragon Armor, as there's nothing really on par with Daedric Daggers (since Skyforge Daggers can't be improved) and the extra perk isn't too bad.

I like both of the Dragon Armors, though the helmets could be improved for both of them I was having trouble deciding if I wanted my female Breton to go light or heavy. Ended up going with Dragon scale because the color is better and I didn't like the huge shoulders Dragon plate gave her. It looked way too big for her and just kind of silly. The scale armor looks nice though. Much better helmet than Dragon plate.

Yeah, and with only a minimal amount of upgrading, a full set of daedric armor will easily get you past 575 armor rating, which is the max you can have anyway. So it's all a moot point- just wear daedric if you prefer, and you won't be losing out on any defense.

deadra hearts are pretty simple to acquire actually...if you git the coin and lets face it in this that sooo easy, just go to winterhold gain access to the college and talk to a dark elf there and he sells you "questionable" items at ridiculous prices including deadra hearts............wait was that a spoiler....ohh well

It's because daedric armour covers the wearer more than dragon plate armour does by design and make. That's the only logic I see in it as dragon bone/scale is suppose to be the the strongest material in Tamriel. The dragon bone plate armour leaves a lot of exposed flesh as well as some areas being just covered in fur. It's like a traditional Nordic design, or similar to Ancient Nord Armour.

So infact, eventhough dragon bone is stronger than ebony, the area of dragon bone plating in the armour is a lot less than that of ebony plating in daedric armour, equating to less armour rating.
