Daedric Armor - smithing required?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:59 am

I have been searching for Daedric armor for quite some time now, but haven't found any. Googling a bit about it gave me the impression that it is impossible to find, and can only be made via smithing. Is this true? I haven't leveled my smithing at all, so that would mean I will have to invest some time in it. Anyone that can confirm/unconfirm this?

Very rare. By level 58 on my 1st character I've never found a full set. :o

Buy all the Daedra Hearts you can find - there is a place you can farm them, but it bugs out on some games and doesn't respawn the mobs.

You may also want to buy all the Ebony ingots you find. You can mine them and the veins respawn, but Ebony veins are kinda' rare too. :P

It is very rare, and player-level dependent... which means you need to be a high level before it even has that slight chance to show up in loot or stores. You can make daedric armor at the atronach forge without any smithing ability, though. You'll need daedra hearts and ebony armor pieces to convert it. Check the UESP wiki about the atronach forge if you are having trouble finding the recipes for the atronach forge (they're really rare, too).

You need the perk to make it, but you don't need the perk to improve it. But your skill level for each improvement becomes a lot higher without the perk. So legendary Daedric item without the perk will require some sort of combination of fortify smithing gears & potions.

You can find it, but it's rare. And the few pieces that I've found are usually already enchanted.
I've found a few pieces of Dragon armor too (mostly in chests, once at a vendor) and they're mostly un-enchanted.
Supposedly sometime after about level 36ish.

I've gotten some special enchanted Daedric pieces during some Daedric quests, and I don't mean the rewards. Never seen it as regular random loot.

Really smithing or the atronach forge are the only reliable ways to get a full set.

Thank you very much for the reactions. I think I'll look into that attronach forge thing, because I don't really like smithing, so leveling would be kinda boring for me . Thank!

I made mine, I don't understand why Dedrick armor is better than Dragon armor. why Dragon armor is at lvl 100 but is the second best armor in the game baffles me. I can make Dragon Armor too though. It's good to be lvl 100 in smithing

Find?

No. Never

But the weapon can be a reward at high level

Quick step for Full Daedric Armor

1. Smithing Skill 90, pickup the Daedric Armor Perk
2. Go to College, find ETHNIR
3. Buy, 4 Daedra heart from him
Notes: He only sells 2 per day, so wait / sleep and come back to him

4. Go search any ebony ingot / buy it
5. Make a lot of leather strip
6. Create the armor

I made mine, I don't understand if Dedrick armor is better than Dragon armor why Dragon armor is at lvl 100 but I can make that too. It's good to be lvl 100 in smithing

Yes i dont understand either

it seem like a Bug.

Daedric should be at Level 100, because it never be found, and the hardest armor in the game

but the Dragon armor, it can be found!

Atronach Forge requires level 90 conjuration

That's the Guild quest for the Conjuration school you're thinking of... anybody at any level can use the atronach forge to make stuff.

He's right I'm afraid. In order to make Daedric gear, you need a sigil stone. The stone is found during the Conjuration quest. So, that's why I go smithing, because I am not a huge magic user, a bit of restoration is all. I'll never get conjuration to 90 lol

I found a Daedric bow around level 30-35 in a chest in a Giant's Camp. I guess I was just lucky, but in all my playthroughs, I've hardly ever seen a piece of Daedric armor.

My guess is that Daedric Armor is probably considered evil-ish since you have to embue with the essence of a humanoid. Hard-core RPers they may not want to wear it so Drabon gives them a powerful alternative?

I found a Daedric Helmet once, in a chest, as random loot. Only piece I recall finding after 300+ hours of gameplay on 3 chars, although I think my highest level character was 47 or so.

There is a Daedric helmet...
Spoiler
around the back side of the Mehrunes Dagon shrine
I have found one or two other items as well in set locations, not random loot but I disremember where. Personally, I don't think Daedric should be on the smithing tree at all. Why would your blue collar smithing skills allow you to construct a demonic artifact from a parellel dimension? And anyway, it looks dumb.

there's a pretty good Ebony mine in one of the orc strongholds.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, pretty much all loot except quest items/uniques is random.

According to the WIKI the minium character level that will allow it spawn is LVL 48. I have certainly seen claims on these pages that it does show up at merchants when you reach the mid / upper 50s, but I cannot confirm.

Beyond the normal method thru smithing, it can be made at the Atronach Forge but requires a 90 in CONJURATION to start a required quest.

Yeah but if you like a teammate but think followers are annoying conjuration is awesome. Atronachs and Dremora Lords appear only when you want them and are awesome helpers.

General Tulios gave me a suit of Daedric armor as a "symbol of station" when he made me an Imperial Legate (happens after you capture a few forts). I was level 35 at the time.

http://i.minus.com/ibnSUoVUGihy1K.jpg

Pretty sure that was a random drop, because I had to run through that meeting twice (had a glitch that made my follower vanish shortly after the first meeting). The first time through I got a much lamer suit of armor (banded iron!) but was only level 34, so may not have been eligible for the Daedric armor.

Sadly, with my smithing skill of 72, Orc armor is a better option than Deadric, and is actually enough to let me reach the armor cap. I'll probably never actually wear the daedric armor, but it does look nice on the dolly in my basemant!
In a way, that's actually realistic; high ranking military officers often had "parade dress" armor that looked much better than their battle armor, but would have provided (slightly) inferior protection if used in combat.

the Dragon armor, it can be found!

I've only ever found a few Daedric weapons and gauntlets, and they're normally already enchanted.
I have only ever found a dragon shield.

Oops, y'all are right... my bad. I'm just used to getting stuff for books and other miscellaneous stuff -- I don't make daedric gear with the forge... I just know that it's possible. :)

So I retract my earlier statement, as that is bad info.

Dragon Armor is above Daedric Smithing due to the fact that it gives you the best light armor in the game, along with the second best heavy armor in the game. Although admittedly no matter which side of the tree you go the heavy armor part of Dragon Armor perk is useless since either you already have Daedric Smithing or you can't go down to Daedric Smithing from Dragon Armor...
