Daedric weapons....

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:29 am

I am desperate to grab a pair of Daedric Daggers, and wondering if it's fixed that these start appearing at later levels and crafted high end smithing, or can you attain them from day 1 from somewhere? any info would be appreciated, cheers.

Daedric in general is very rare, but more common at higher levels. Honestly I've gotten almost full daedric now from random chests over the course of several dozen hours of gameplay. You'll be very lucky to score 1 dagger, extremely if 2. Better off just power leveling that smithing.

Several of my girls have found them fairly early on named Dragon Priests. I understand from others that my experience is pretty unusual.

odds of looting 2 daggers next to zero, if you want them you are better off learning to smith. Even finding venders with them is very rare, my level 78 has never seen a daedric weapon for sale and has only looted a handful and never a dagger.

I see, thank you for the help, looks like Smithing is on the Agenda then, but with only Alchemy as my crafting class at the moment, wont really be a problem I guess.

you can find them in all large ornate chests commonly found at the end of dungeons once youre around level 48 or higher.

daedric items are never sold in shops with the exception of enchanted daedric bows from fences and some blacksmiths.

I found a Daedric Mace of Devouring (Absorb Health enchantment) in the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon. Apparently the loot there(which is great) respawns once a week in game time.

Of course, since perks are in trees, you need to invest in (IIRC) three lower level heavy armour smithing perks just to get the daedric one. Since most people using daggers will be specialising in light armour, they're wasted perks. But sadly I find that even past level 50 daedric gear is rare.

Your smithing level has to be at 90 to be able to make Deadric weapons. You need Deadra hearts and Ebony ingot to smith Deadric weapons. If you don't know where to get deadra hearts, go to the Winterhold College and talk to Enthir. He's usually in his quarters on the second floor of the Attainment building. Ebony ingot you can buy at any blacksmith, but you got to have the Ebony smithing perk.

Alternatively, you could do the "Pieces of the Past" quest for a regular free supply of hearts and ebony ingots, and more ebony can be dug up in Gloombound Mine or Redbelly Mine.

No offense, Esrafael, but this member is asking a question about smithing. No need to bring in quests and spoil it for him.

No offense taken. This is the Hints, Cheats and Spoilers board; that sticky only applies to the General Discussion board. If this was originally posted in General, it was moved. And the quest I mentions relates to smithing as a source of materials.

I don't recommend going the smithing route, it's to overpowering even on master. It's an option though.

Or you can use conjuration, you need to be level 90 conjuration and have done the master quest, getting a sigil stone. Use the sigil stone with an ebony dagger, as well as a few other ingredients to make a daedric dagger at the atronach forge located under the college of winterhold. You can also make a random enchanted daedric weapon (you will need to reset to get a dagger) using some items.
The recipes are here - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Atronach_Forge

Or you can find them at high levels, incredibly rare. Tonilia (thieves guild) will possibly sell one at high levels, you could keep resetting her shop until you get one.

You would be much better off if you just level up Smithing and then make your own Daedric Weapons. That is what I did. It took a long time to get the skill up that high, but I did eventually. I have coupled that Skill with Enchanting also. It was worth it to level up Smithing to this point. My character basically was a smith all along and used this as a way to make money, thus, I got to Daedric Smithing at a reasonable level. Daedric hearts are not that hard to find either.

Good Luck...

Getting your smithing to 100 is easy peasy! Just buy a shed load of iron ingot and leather strips and make iron daggers and see how your Smithing levels ups. If you have enough ingots and strips, it takes only 15 minutes to get your Smithing at 100. Naturally, you have to buy the Smithing perks in between, but thats not a problem because you level up very fast when doing this.

@Esrafael

yes, i didn't noticed, i tought i was in the general forum section. :tops:
