Hey, has anyone heard from Bethesda *Officially* if daggers are bugged when it comes to the perk tree and enchants not doing anything for them or is this intended? I am not complaining but simply wondering if there has been any word and official reply about it? Daggers do not benefit from most of the one hand tree nor do they benefit at all to one hand damage enchants.

There is the backstab perk in Sneak with x15 damage multiplier and Dark Brotherhood gloves that double damage... and then there is Smithing.

So I've Smith a Daedric dagger for 90 damage and 90x15x2=2700 damage.

2700 damage points from a dagger!



...and that's before Enchants and Poisons.

Yeah, I wondered maybe if its because daggers would be too strong in that case... But even with those gloves, swords still do more damage in the end for sneak attacks. I calculated if I had the DB gloves, I would do almost 400 more damage with my swords of same quality as my daggers because I have one hand perks and one hand enchants. I just don't see the point using daggers unless its just preference since they are weaker in every aspect.

Daggers allow for stealth kills. If you use a sword, you'll be detected.

I thought that as well until I saw you can do stealth kills with swords as well. You can throat slit someone the same way undetected.

Who cares when a dagger sneak attack already kills anything in the game...
Not to mention a dual wield dagger power sneak attack.
And daggers didnt make any noise unlike other onehanded weapons.
