Daniel

I'm currently playing through Honest Hearts again, and I've come across Daniel. I have to say I hate that man, I hate him with a passion. While the best ending for the Sorrows is to stay and fight he wants to run and if you don't it "haunts him for the rest of his life". However if you follow his plan and runaway he is still haunted by his choice. I find him to be untrustworthy weak and unwilling to defend the Sorrows completely. Zion is their land and he is trying to take them off of it by saying that "there is a difference between killing in defense and waging war." But it is defense, the Sorrows home is Zion, and fighting the White Legs means defense of your home. His reasons and endings all make me mad, there is very little that is good about that man.

He's haunted because the sorrow's become more war like as time goes on that and the conflict with the dead horses that keeps leading to skirmishes between the two. He's torn between wanting the sorrow's to remain innocent and non violent and his wanting for them to remain in their home at zion. He's a tortured soul he feels responsible for the whole situation because of the new caaninites involvement with their tribe since if the new caaninites wouldn't have befriended the sorrows the event of the game wouldn't be taking place. He feels responsible for the hardship faced by the sorrow due to his peoples action.

Dont get me wrong i can understand Daniel reasons for wanting to help them to leave, but its the sorrows home, and has been for years.
its Conflict that strengthens them, and isolation from it errodes them.
