Dark Brotherhood Forever! (spoilers)

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:19 am

After you complete the Dark Brother main quest, you know you get the Dark Brotherhood Forever quests. I've done like three of the darkbrotherhood forever quests...is there an end to them? Or are those like the only quests you get in the DB from then on? Is there any big finallie?

I hate it because I feel like I should keep doing them because the Night Mother assigns them lol

Yup, it's never ending, and considering that the target is usually out in the open, its very hard to kill him or her without being spotted

I am actually appreciative that the DB assassination quests are indefinite. You know, so my killer can actually keep slaughtering, and keep getting paid to do so. The Night Mother is always watching, my friend...

I love the hood that your character is wearing in that screenshot. I am guessing that comes from a mod? My poor ol' 360...

Nope. They just continue ad infinium. However, having a constantly generating random assassination contract module in the engine makes it easy to have the Dark Brotherhood continue into the next game. You've assassinated the Emperor, and now the DB is back on track with a working Ritual and assassinations being carried out much faster than "We heard from the street urchins that you had done the Black Ritual...". The Night Mother is back speaking to a Listener...

Yup, very easy to write them into the next game. Though I would also like to see the Morag Tong get back together as well. Have both Assassin's Guilds working to rebuild themselves... that'd be intensity in ten cities!

And hey, Bethesda... if you do have both Guilds working to rebuild in the next game... they don't have to try to wipe each other out you know. I know they have some deep philosophical/religious viewpoints, but let the Tong have Mephala, and the Dark Brotherhood can keep Sithis, and they can both rebuild back to their former power. It can be doe gamesas.

;)

There are 10 listed on Wikia, but if people say the quest is never-ending then I guess they just repeat themselves. :P

I can't really tell from his pics, but I think it's a Dragon Priest mask.

They're the same ten Contact, Target, Locations, etc. for every contract, but they mix up the combinations of Contract, Targets, & Locations whenever you go back. that makes close to/over 300+ possible combinations (it may even be more than that...)

Sweet. I'll start doing them again - I'd been 'saving' them for when I didn't have anything else to do.
I figured they were 'forever' by the name of the quest, but when I was looking up something else about the DB I saw the list and figured that "forever" was a relative term. :P

Frenzy- problem solved. I miss the complex assassinations though. Imperial sewers was a favorite of mine.

I may have to try that. I usu Sneak and wait for an opportunity (which I enjoy), but a change-up might be fun.

Yeah. Usually when the target is out in the open, I usually wait until nightfall. Barring that, I'll test to see how good my Archery is. I'll get as far back as I can to the limit of the draw distance, and see if I can not only hit them, but one-shot them from distance as well.

;)

Adds a whole new level of challenge. But Frenzy is fun as well, I love watching my unassuming targets get it handed to them by a guard.

You know, for having taken an arrow in the knee, they can run after that Mill worker pretty well...

Nope, they are called Dragon Priests masks, there are 8 in total, and than an extra one if you collect all 8. The one I am wearing in the screenshot is either Nahkriin, which you get during the Main Quest, or Vokun, which is in a dungeon somewhere in the Pale

I've done a couple with Archery from what I thought was a far enough distance behind concealment, but I got 'noticed' both times and got the bounty. <_< Since it's possible to go unnoticed I'll try again. :P

I can't believe how itinerant lumberjacks or poor fishwives can drive so many to resort to the Black Sacrament.

My favorite so far are the visiting nobles in Dragonsreach. A suitably strong frenzy potion does the trick, lol. Even when I used a damage-over-time potion, I got away. The moment he died, the guard by the door pulled out his sword and said, "Ye Gods!" Then realized there wasn't anything for him to do, so he sheathed his weapon. In passing, he said to me, "Psst! Hey, I know you. Hail Sithis!"

HAHA, Yeah, there's no end to it I don't think and there's no way to remove it from yourlist of things to do either.

It's just like the thieves guild quest

Steal [goblet | drinking horn | ornate urn | jewelled candlestick ] from [ NPC list ] in [Town list]

So boring... And you get... guess what? Gold. As if it wasn't easy enough to have more gold than it's possible to spend
