Yes. Together with all of Nazirs missions there are 28 quests in that questline. I think it is almost as good as oblivions.

Wasn't as fun as the one in Oblivion, but yes it was still more fun that "go to 'x' get 'y' " like every other quest-line.

Let's not get carried away now. Oblivions guild quests were fantastic. Skyrims were just OK

Questlines take a back seat to general exploration in this one.

I'm supposed to do a question, Contract: Kill Hern, but... POTENTIAL SPOILER...

Hern is a vampire. No big deal, until I enter the house. They, like most residents of Skyrim, have garlic hanging around for cooking. Nice touch. Do the werewolves have silver charm bracelets, too?

It was way too similar to oblivion's DB quest-line... In addition, I think the player was introduced to the group way too soon. During the very first half an hour of playing Skyrim, I heard something about the dark brotherhood.. I'd been waiting 5 years for a grand search for the Skyrim brotherhood, and I found it instantly.

TES vampires dosent have weakness against garlic. That one vampire in oblivion was unique.

It is the only guild that has 'enough' quests in it so it stands out. All the other quests really are a huge disappointment, there is just so little to do. Whereas in other TES games a guild could be the centre of a playthrough, now it is just a side activity. Thieves' guild also has a lot fo quests but they are by radiant AI and very boring because of it.

Being able to assassinate targets in an openworld game is always fun because of all the options at your disposal, this is what makes the quests from Nazir fun enough. Still the Dark Brotherhood doesn't come close to the one in Oblivion, or even the Morag Thong in Morrowind. Hopefully guilds (and quests in general) will get moreattention in Bethesda's next game.

Too evil for me, I killed them all
I haven't really gotten anywhere in it, for my deficiency for being evil, I almost immediately wanted to kill them all once I joined.

I agree lol. Although i have to say that the word "over" in the context of the DB is like taking a bite out of sour apple. I still believe Bethesda should make a real ending for the DB quest line, instead of a never ending continuously cycling. Sorry for the spoiler. :ermm:

Then you missed out on an awesome and substantial quest line. I know what you mean about evil, though. I hesitated for a long time, but eventually went ahead with it after I had done everything else that was worthwhile. I was very glad that I did.

It's alright but I kind of felt that the saga was nothing more than a filler with little to no consequences after killing the emperor. Since my character is a Stormcloak that won the civil war I would've wanted Jorleif to send a letter to me ordering me to go to windhelm to speak with Ulfric. Either Ulfric congratulates me or gives me a few unsettling words about how it wasn't the right time, and now I messed up his plan.

I totally agree. It actualy had some effort put into it and was written properly.
The best written questline in the game.

Big, but not so big it gets boring. Interesting and unique objectives, no fetch quests, unlike most of the rest of the game.
Challenging, but fun.
And you can continue after. Using randomly spawned npcs, which is good.
It's like it was written by completely diferent people to most of it.

I skipped TG and DB on my main character who was not a theif or assasin (or a bard for that matter). I have started 2 new characters, but the luster has worn off the game (DLC, already!) and I don't know how far I'll end up taking those 2 new guys. I could use the TG & DB as de facto DLC, as I haven't done either, but neither of my two new guys is a thief or an assassin so perhaps the concept of those guilds/questlines just doesn't appeal to me as a real life person. I don' like not having seen all there is to see, but on the other hand, I'm not so sure I want to participate in either group.

I <3 the Dark Brotherhood, but as has been mentioned, the quests are almost exactly like the ones in Oblivion, really. Kill someone on a pirate ship, this guy wanders the provice so go find him and kill him, push something heavy onto victim and kill them but your timing has to be good, YOUR FAMILY IS DEEEEEEEEEEEEEAD (but this time it was less sad because the hell with Astrid,) etc. Not to say I didn't enjoy the living hell out of the questline, since when Amaund was all "lol assassinate the emperoer" chills went up my spine, but still. >;

You might want to try to rationalize it because the questlines really are pretty cool and the TG is probably worth it to see Irknthand alone.

FWIW: the only real victimization of possible innocents takes place when:
TG:
Spoiler
you shake down the 3 'business' people in Riften. Even then it seems more like they borrowed money from the TG and haven't paid it back than collecting protection money.

DB:
Spoiler
You only have assassinate 3 NPCs of questionable guilt/innocence for Nazir to start the quest line proper. Depending upon your moral compass there is one assassination in the DB line (you can probably guess) that may be more evil than the others, but I had no issues with the rest.

To put it in prospective: I will not do Boethiah's Calling or The Taste of Death for RL moral reasons, but I had no problem with TG and DB lines.

Agreed. The one in Oblivion made me feel like a true assassin. Finding my own ways into peoples houses. Having to wait until the right moment to take someone out. Now most of the DB missions (esp. after the place gets burned to the ground) are all too easy.

Most targets you can kill in broad daylight. Hell even some you can walk up to and be like "Hey, I'm gonna kill you now.." and you won't get in trouble IF you talk to them first? How does THAT make sense?

Don't get me wrong the DB are the best quests in this game IMHO. Just they could've been more... dark?

I did the Thieves Guild right away, right out of Helgen, when I was new (and broke).
Doesn't make sense for an accomplished guy with money and homes to join them...
Then I did the Companions; then the Mages Guild.
At this point I settled the Civil War (doesn't matter which side) and it left my guy a stone-cold killer, and a little bit loopey too...
Basically a good-guy, but he had post-traumatic stress disorder.
Perfect candidate for the Dark Brotherhood, right?
You've just gotta role-play your guy into these scenarios - it's not really "you" after all, is it...
