Darken the Game!

The jam video with dark dungeons looks like so much fun! That is the way dungeons are supposed to be.

Making dungeons pitch black, except with a huge glow around torches and candles and the like. How awesomely creepy would it be only seeing a Falmer when he is 5 feet in front of you?

It would be nice if they color corrected the game just a tad bit :)

Otherwise, it's totally fine. If it was darker, it would be nicer and more dense colors.

I would hold a torch in my other hand the whole time
:)

this would render shields useless though...

I keep the default game fairly dark and the caves and ruins are fairly challenging. Traps are harder to see as long as they aren't in the light (happens too often) and enemies often get the jump on me in the dark. It's much more intense that way.

I'm fine with the way they look now.

I could see having a toggle switch for this ... so that if you want "dark dungeons" you can have them.

It's just that for me "dark dungeons" always brings back unpleasant memories of a couple of games I tried many years back on the NES ... the ones were the only hint of colour in the entire game was a screen before you entered the "dungeon" and you spent the rest of the time stumbling around in the dark trying to avoid pitfalls, etc.

I never lasted more than a few hours on those but obviously some folks loved them.

Different strokes.

I turned the brightness down all the way, that helped. Made the rest of the game look better too.
