I was really hoping the glitch didn't happen to me because it's really common on the forums. Boone isn't with me and when I try to get another follower they say that I already have someone with me... Please someone help

Did you try the "fix Vault 22's elevator and take a ride in it" option? Some say that makes them show up beside you again. Why, I don't know...I've never had to try it.
