Search through the cells for "warehouse" and find the one with all the traps in it. I'm sure there is a functional dart trap in there. You can either copy it into your own cell or examine its inner workings and replicate it yourself.

How far away from the pressure plate is the dart trap? The darts do have a maximum range. Are you certain you lined up the trap correctly? If you have the rotation on the trap wrong, you won't notice it fire.
Did you read the advanced traps tutorial and verify that you have correctly llinked the the trap to the pressure plate? (IE, you used activate parent to set the link from the dart trap to the link marker and then activate parent to link the marker to the plate)

I did read the tutorial. I linked the trap as it said, tried it, nothing. I then linked it the other way around (to see if I had just confused which was the parent)- nothing.
Its definately lined up- there is a great big orange line. Its not too far away because its directly in front of the pressure plate.

its a mystery.

I will try and copy from the warehouse though.

copied one from the warehouse and that doesnt work either. I suspect that there is something simple that I havent done or there is more to setting a dart trap than i realise.

Can anyone who has set up a dart trap (to a pressure pad) that works- talk me through it stage by stage??????

thanks

TrapDartPortSingle01 > Activate Parents > TrapPressurePlateMetal01

That's it for a single dart "emitter". If you want a row of them to fire together, add as many additional TrapDartPortSingle01Child as you need.
TrapDartPortSingle01 > Linked Ref > (the 1st) TrapDartPortSingle01Child
(the 1st) TrapDartPortSingle01Child > Linked Ref > (the 2nd) TrapDartPortSingle01Child
and so on for the rest of the children.

If you want a working reference, there's one (with 4 "emitters") in ForsakenCave01.

Dunno - works perfectly here. Only possibility is that I dragged them directly from the Object Window rather than copy/pasting from another cell. Maybe yours are "dirty" - holding references to things in other cells?

The answer:

I had saved my character inside new dungeon (to test) and even though I had saved changes made in creation kit, revisited numerous times (in skyrim game- with and without the creation kit running) nothing worked.
Yesterday I left my dungeon, came back in and lo and behold- it all worked.

so answer is....

Leave the dungeon and re-enter.

Hope this helps anyone else who might have a problem.
