Dawnguard 1600 microsoft points

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 10:43 am

I wanna get dawnguard when it release on the first day on xbox 360. however when i went to ebgames, they only sell 1400 microsoft point and 2800 microsoft points card thing. I asked them and they said that they dont have 1600 microsoft points for sell. So why didn't bethesda make dawnguard cost the same price as an actual microsoft points card that stores actually sell. Does that mean that i have to pay more money for the 2800 microsoft points card to buy the 1600 DLC. cuz seriously I will do it but then what i am i gonna do with the rest of those points. Cuz lets face it, all other games on xbox are **** compare to skyrim so why would I wanna spend those points on anything else. I would get the microsoft points online from amazon but i dont have a credit card so that option is out T_T Is there anyway I could get the 1600 microsoft points card? is anyone else having these issues? BTW I live in Canada so I dont know if its just here or is it the same in the US as well that they only sell 1400 microsoft points and the 2800 one. But either way I will get that DLC but just wanna make sure before i buy that 2800 one that there is no other way for me to get it. :ermm:

Look on ebay and buy two 800s? Or buy the larger ones so you can buy the next dlc too.

Yeah, for 20 dollars in the states you can get 1600, but in Canada, you get 1400 for 20 dollars. I think the price SHOULD be adjusted for Canadians because of the differences. It's not really fair having to dish out 40 dollars.

I was pretty sure that Microsoft points came in packs of 800, 1600, and 3200. And it was £1 per 100 points.

I really dislike this point system that both Microsoft and Nintendo use. It's designed that way so you will spend more money than you need to, and then the leftover points will stay at their place and give them interest until you use them.

Yeah this svcks, I am also canadian and i'm not spending an extra $20, 1400 more msp. I should just be able to buy for 1400 -_-. Or raise Canada's from 1400 to 1600.

I think the 1600 MP is a rumor. If it is 1600, then the DLC will be comparatively big, and worth the price. Being this the First DLC for Skyrim, Bethesda wouldn't open on a particularly high note. That being said, I expect it to be either 800 MP or 1200 MP.

Wow I was gonna leave after i posted and come back later to check but u guys are fast.. yeah i guess my only option is to buy the 2800 one since i dont have a credit card to get stuff online T_T. lets just hope that they'll have more DLC in the future  but now that i think about it. Do u think that maybe bethesda got nothing to do with the pricing but its microsoft that decides the price of the dlc. since they're probably gonna get more money from the microsoft points right?

Yeah, and it gets to the point where it is so low you can't even spend it. If MS ran on a money system and you had 2 dollars in your account, you'd just buy 18 dollars of MS dollar sand buy Dawnguard, but nope if you have the equivalent of 19 dollars on your xbox live account you need to buy a full 20 dollars worth of points.(I've never seen an 800 in Canada)

All other games on xbox are [censored] compared to Skyrim? Maybe in terms of content or the type of games, but you can take all the other games on xbox and you still won't get as many bugs that Skyrim was released with and still has.

Try buying them off your Xbox, it has more point options.

1600 is a bit expensive.

20 hours of gameplay, $20 for DLC.
$1/hour for content. Think about it, what else can you do for $1 an hour? Been to a movie lately? I know when I took my last girlfriend I was spending $30+ on one trip and that's like what, on average 2 hours?

Having to deal with this is really annoying, luckily I have 1000 points left over. I really hate it that the Canadian dollar is worth like 98 cents to the American dollar and yet we are getting around $2.50 less in points than Americans for the $20 cards.

One thing I would suggest is joining Xbox Live Rewards. You get like 20 points a month doing surveys and I got 300 points watching youtube, netflix, and playing online. Those bonus points are good for times like this.

well im not saying its expensive but i am saying that it would be more convenient to have the option to buy the microsoft point cards that have the same price as the dlc. I would buy the 1600 but they dont have it, therefore i cannot buy it T_T so i have to get the more expensive one, thats all im saying. and thats what im gonna have to do now anyways

Yeah, I feel for ya, why don't you get a bank card so you can buy online? Don't need an actual credit card. My post was actually in response to Death45649.

Question to Canadians: Is there usually this disparity between how many point are on a card and how many points a game or add-on costs? Because MSP fits to USD in that $1 equals 80 points, and thus $20 equals 1600, which is the exact price of the DLC.

In Canada and places in Europe (and probably other places) it's always $20 for 1400 MS points.
