Dawnguard... how will it affect the few vampirewerewolf hybr

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 10:50 pm

I was just thinking back to a friends orc and realized wait, would it crash his game or would dawnguard fix this glitch and force your character down one stream? Like I don't see it even partially reasonable for someone to be a vampire lord and werewolf with perks, especially in a DLC that will pull in from a lot of lore in the dark universe. Or has bethesda made a fix for this problem already?

You can't be both at the same time, the only way you could is through glitches, and in that case it would be best to fix those.

You definitely could. Not sure about now. If you became a vamp, and then drank the werewolf blood you'd be both.

The werewolf blood should cure vampirism. If it didn't it was a glitch.

Last I heard Todd Howard said if you are a werewolf, dawnguard's breed of vampirism will cure you of lycanthropy, cancelling it out. You can't be a hybrid as far as I know considering that.

well if you cure your self of lycanthropy you can use the Ring of Hircine to transform once a day. >,> haven't wanted to test if i can as a vampire. BAD THINGS happened to me in morrowind when i went messing around with that stuff. like running around as a headless, tailess werewolf that burned in the sunlights, looked like he had a vampires bald head jammed down the stump of his throat and never ever changed back to human form.

Normal vampires dont get a skill tree from what i know, so i guess there wont be any change (other then the werewolf skill tree).

False. In fact, lycanthropy has always been a way to CURE vampirism and to stay immune from contracting the disease no matter what.

I'm positive I saw a youtube vid where the guy did that.
Edit: He did that but used the console to ressurect himself or something whilst doing it which glitched it and allowed him to be both.

It's a rather unique glitch but it DOES work. You have to contract Sanguinare Vampiris and then go to the Underforge (assuming you've made it to that point in the quest line) and then save the game. After saving, you wait three days and record the EXACT TIME you turn into a full-blown Vampire. Then, reload the save and at the very moment you should turn, drink the blood. If done correctly, you'll get the message confirming your Vampirism right as you black out. It's intricate, but cool.

My friend actually just showed me, what he did was literally kept saving his game and drank the wolfs blood when the indicating phrase for vampire happens, he drank the werewolfs blood, and now he's got sanguinare and lycanthropy, he gets no perks from sleeping, he has the issues and perks of vampirism, sun issues, nightly feeding, and even skill can transform and has disease restance from lycanthropy. I guess he was a few people who did that, which makes me wonder how his character will react in dawnguard.

Indeed, lore-wise It apparently can't be done.

Gameplay-wise though there are like 3 ways I know of to be a Hybrid. One is using The Ring Of Hircine after curing Lycanthropy and becoming a Vampire (not sure if that way has been patched yet)

The second way is to contract Sanguinare Vampiris and drink the Wolf blood at the exact same moment your blood boils and you go Vamp.

The third is to simply use console commands on the PC to give yourself the powers (Making yourself a vamp and giving yourself Beast Form which makes you really weird since after you Wolf-out you will be permanently hairless) or just do what I did and give give yourself the abilities you want through the console commands without the glitches that come with "making" a hybrid:

Ok. Unless you use a glitch/code on PC, you cannot be both at the same time. If you are a werewolf but want to try being a Vampire during Dawnguard, apparently you can try it out and either keep it if you want, or revert back to a werewolf after the quest line.

How to be a Werewolf and a Vampire at the same time..

Step 1 - Become a Werewolf
Step 2 - Aquire the Ring of Hircine
Step 3 - Cure yourself of being a Werewolf
Step 4 - Become a Vampire
Step 5 - Use the Ring of Hircine

This causes a big problem though, you lose the ability to feed as a Vampire completely and as such end up stuck as a Stage 4 Vampire eventually.
