what purpose could this dragon in the trailor mean ?

a true death to the dragon threat running amok ?

the return of Alduin... again ?

maybe its one of Parthunaax's followers of the voice and its broken through the ice to lead you some where important ?

Nah, you destroyed his soul. In MQ you killed him the only way on nirn possible.

it felt like i kicked him out of Sovernguard and that was all .-.

if he had dropped loot of any kind then i would of considered him dead

probably a set dragon battle, or maybe the dragons we met will use new tatics. I bet one of the factions orders you to kill it

I strongly doubt that DLC will inpact on the MQ. Probably ot's just scripeted battle, just like the confrontation near Whiterun's watch-tower.

I can't remember whether its a greybeard, esbern or paarthuunax but one of them comments on the fact that you didn't absorb his soul so alduin could still come back

this i think was paarthunax or greybeard the blades know nothing about dragons other than how to destroy them

Since dragons were not eliminated I think that what we are seeing is a knew type of dragon (water dragons) and breaking through the ice is the start of a knew attack (break through the ice and come back up from directly under the PC

It's probably a scripted one-time thing. The landscape for the most part is static, like when you kill a dragon and a scripted fall animation happens that makes a trail.
