Dawnguard Loot

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:21 pm

I never did the DLC in Oblivion or Fallout so I was wondering, based on prior games, is Dawnguard loot (weapons, trinkets, etc) something that will only be available in the 'dawnguard' play or will it most likely be available in all of Skyrim?

For example, when I join the Dawnguard to slay vamps and I get a sweet crossbow, will I only be able to use it in the Dawnguard DLC or can I take the crossbow and use it in all of Skyrim/sell it to various shops, give to followers, etc.

I know that all of this will be answered relatively soon, I'm just curious based off of prior games what people are anticipating.

Cheers!

Dawnguard isn't a stand-alone DLC, so yes, any loot you earn in Dawnguard will be useable elsewhere in your game.

The crossbow, as far as I'm concerned, is definitely usable outside of the DLC.

Most of the loot will be able to, I think. I think the new mount also can be used in the original world of Skyrim, but I'm not too sure.

Sweet! That's what I was hoping to hear!

What's the speculation on where the awesome looking castle for the Dawnguard will be located in Skyrim?

Speculation is somewhere near Riften, I believe. Beyond that.. anyone's guess.

If you do go by past DLC, you can basically treat it just like another questline, you will get rewards and loot that you can use throughout.

As far as the Rift goes, too many spiders. I will probably stray clear of the dawnguard if there are spiders on my way. Nasty things.

I'm sure you could use it outside of the DLC, but you probably won't be finding crossbows in vanilla dungeons.

Why am I hearing these lines being spoken by Oblivion NPCs...um...any news from the other provinces?

OT: I think Dawnguard may be similar to the Shivering Isles expansion in that you can use nearly everything obtained there in the "main" world, with the exception of a few DLC-specific skills. I loved bringing Dawnfang/Duskfang back through the portal to Cyrodiil. Mwa ha ha!
