If Dawnguard never came?

Post » Sat Jul 14, 2012 4:15 am

What would people do if PC users don't ever get Dawn Guard?
I think modders will create their own exact replica of Dawn guard.. With their own textures, and probably their own voice overs.
What do you guys think.

Theres already been a port to the pc made by some hackers.
Crashes when it tries to load any of the textures though, custom textures I guess.

Unlikely. Any serious attempts will be shut down by legal actions, the rest will be rife with bugs and untenable.

Stop worrying - Dawnguard will come.

I'd keep using http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17077 mod. I've checked out Dawnguard a bit on my friends 360 and to be honest, if I had to choose between the two I'd pick BSR. I'd miss the new content as far as quests and locations go but I'd get over it eventually.

There are already very impressive Vampire mods and quest mods that are on par and even rival anything that is put out professionally. These are made my modders that are either aspiring college students, hobbiests or other developers. So the talent is there. The truly massive mods that compare to DLC and are nothing short of an expansion are yet to be completed.

So, Dawnguard or not the PC players will always have great stuff coming out on am almost daily basis.

However, I would be careful about discussing "hacked content" as it is a sensitive subject.

I highly doubt, Dawnguard will NEVER come to PC/PS3 users.

Well, I'll deal with it, pc users have certain privileges after all, but it won't be fair for the ps3 owners.

I really cannot fathom a game developer that wants to deny itself income by not releasing a DLC for the PC. It would be a terrible business decision that serves no purpose.

I suppose maybe if the xbox paid Bethesda some money to make the DLC exclusive to the console. But again I feel it is bad business.

the only way for it to never come is the world ends before it came out.

I think it was just an excuse to talk about creating a replica of Dawnguard. Like his last thread.

Dawnguard is a theme focused DLC whose size is certainly bigger than Knights of the Nine for Oblivion but less than Shivering Islands, Bloodmoon or even Tribunal.

Till DG announcement, I was eagerly awaiting Skyrim expansions to come, but all the feedback (positive and negative) that I read in the forums made me decide against buying it: not enough content and too strong focus on the MQ. I wish Bethesda would create two fully featured expansions like they did for Morrowind! Unfortunately, it seems that DLCs are the direction the industry is headed because it's more cost effective on their side.

Maybe the next DLC will have a them I'll love and, as I said, I'm really craving for more content. I'm just keeping my expectations low because I don't want to be disappointed or living with unrealistic expectations.

It's unlikely I will get the expansion anyway if I am honest and I doubt whether I would consider my life to be over if I couldn't get it...

it'd be completely [censored] if it didn't go to ps3 users, but as a pc user, i have the nexus and even steam workshop for quest mods... so it wouldnt be disastrous.

It's coming out for PC for sure. Go to the stats and you'll see a DAWNGUARD QUESTS COMPLETED thingy. PS3 hasn't got that, tho...

I'm not going to be buying it anyway, so it wouldn't affect me in the slightest.

If DG wasn't coming to both platforms, a permanent exclusivity deal would have been announced yonks ago.

Its amazing what a 30 day wait will do to people 0.o

Id keep playing vanilla/modded skyrim and daily checking the new mods for this is what keeps the game playable, of course Bethesda has huge resources to develop some AAA content but I doubt they will spend much on skyrim anymore.
