Dawnguard - Questions on being a Vampire Lord

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:32 pm

When you become a vampire lord, should you be a vampire before the process? How about the spell casting, will your current casting skills affect the spells? Or will the vampire lord magic be stand alone? Ask your questions, and hope for and educated guess.

Think that it does not matter on the vampire thing. I believe that they make you a vampire anyway. As for the magic the perk trees are separate and you can only use vampire spells in vampire form and regular spells in regular form. You stats do effect vampire lord form but you do get a boost to them, not sure how much of a boost.

1) It doesn't matter whether or not your a Vampire prior to being a Vampire Lord

2) No, I don't think your magic skills will matter because the Vampire Lord has its own perk tree

3) I believe the Vampire Lord spells will be stand alone, although I have been fooled before.......

I don't think current magic skills will affect the vampire spells, but I would assume that it would be beneficial to a vampire lord to have a large magicka pool.

I think nothing that your characters already have really influences anything with the vampire lord perk tree.

I would imagine your basic mana pool would make a difference but... I guess we will see.

I created a new save file as a vampire with all my magic skills set just in case. Can't wait for Vampire Lord.

they say even if your a werewolf it will not stop you from becoming a vampire lord so i don't think it will matter. however i will become a vampire before hand just so it will make more sense for my character.

Mana will be handles like Stamina for Werewolves it looks like. Doesn't matter how much you have, it gets set to a certain number. Looks like Vampire Lord gets a boost to both Stamina and Magic though.

Well judging by what I read and saw, only thing that Vampire Lord form uses from the regular form is, the Health, Magika, and Stamina levels

Another question. The werewolf has the power attack and sprinting attack we all know well. What do you think would be a possibility for the vampire lords power attack and sprinting power attack?

Hey

I'm kinda hoping that within the Vampire Lord Perk Tree we will get different branches for Mage, Warrior and Thief. My character that I plan on making a VL is a Thief and it would be kinda rubbish if I'm told to start casting spells if I wish to be in the VL form. Not everyone within the lore etc came from Magical stock, their are warriors and thieves out their so there should be perks for Thief and Warrior aswell. Not just Mage.

This is just one thing that I'm hoping for in Dawnguard.

Agreed. Im looking to become a vp with my rogue based character, but i think i may have to level alteration or illusion. If you look it up, the vampire lord is mainly a spell caster.

Does anyone know if perks or skills will affect the Vampire Lords powers? Such as one-handed affecting claw attacks or destruction boosting drain life powers?
Also does anyone know if you can sneak in Vamp Lord form?

you probably cant sneak in vampire lord form the form is just like changing into a werewolf you cant crouch and you are automatically targeted as a enemy.

Let's not compare the VL to the Werewolf. Some things are different, such as the VL being able to change form at will, but the Werewolf can't (they can't choose when to exit their form).

A boost to what exactly?

Power to the Grave = Health, Stamina and Magicka boosted to 50. All three of your characters stats transfer and stack with Power to the Grave. Who knows what the censored else since Bethesda won't release any technical info, for all we know the %50 mana regen you get in the Restoration tree will carry over. Who knows only beta testers
