Vampire Discussion Thread

Hey guys, just thought I would start this thread up for people to talk about.

The new vampires in Dawnguard, not the pitiful creatures we have seen so far. Discuss away!

Also, I pose a question, do you think you will have to be human to transform in the DLC or if you are already a vampire, will you be able to transform that way/

I think that if you are already a vampire, you will be able to transform, but you will still have to go through the ritual. Seems most logical to me.

I'm wondering if all Vampire characters will be forced to take the vampire's side.

I'm looking forward to the darkness these new vampires bring. Can't wait to slay some more Vampires =)

They are pretty awesome!
Vampires in Skyrim are pretty "meh" and were lacking. Glad they focused a DLC on them.
Looking forward to see what the new vampires have regarding powers/abilities in the new form and while on the human form with the badass glowing eyes.

One scene in the trailer where the vampire raised a person with one hand, with all those bats on the background and drained her life (perhaps ?) looked pretty awesome. Hope it's not a unique scene or something very specific but a "killmove" or power the player can do.

And while I can't answer your question there are a lot of similar questions like: can you join the vamp faction as a werewolf? ; can you join the Dawnguard as a vampire?

Hopefully Beth will share details regarding those questions at E3.

I'm slightly hopeful.

If you are a vampire in Skyrim then go on the Companion Quest Line, when it comes to become a werewolf, the ritual for being a werewolf overides the vampirism. I kind of hope that it will do the same for werewolves, that the vampire ritual will override my werewolf aspect. I like my Breton, I don't want a new character.

Seeing the trailer I kinda sense some particular abilities/powers coming...

In one of the first scenes the player deploys a "sensor like" wave in a falmer cave/ruin and the falmer started to glow white so I presume we will get a powerful version of detect life.

Later we see feeding from people that are awake.
In the gamejam we saw a small horde of minions controlled by the player so it's possible to have the ability to summon a small horde of undead minions or something of that kind and possibly have control over other creatures that weren't summoned.

And in the scene where he raises the woman while not even touching her and draining her life with one hand my brain popped up with a cool idea: telekinesis like on vanilla Skyrim but stronger... You can lift/throw people and creatures...that would be badass.

Finally there is also a scene where someone/something dissapears in flames and bats...giving players something like that as an illusion spell would be cool also... you're fighting someone and you see yourself in a tight spot...PUFF... you dissapear in flames and bats fly everywhere.

There are so many possibilities for awesome spells and powers so I really hope they did something great.

I'm really really looking forward for this. But don't want expect to much, tough. It's just going to dissapoint me if not meet my expectations.
But I still hope the best, and save money from now on to buy it later.

We've seen a lot of abilities that being a vampire lord grants you, and it looks awesome! But Im wondering what it's gonna be like when in human form. Can you use any vampire lord powers? The trailer did show a vampire in human form performing the bite attack, so what else do you think you can do whilst disguised?

So why don't you cure yourself ?

Since likely both are done via ritual... does that mean that it could be possible to do both? I'm not sure if that'd be awesome, or irksome...

If I can't be both, then I'll just start another character.

Can't you go back to the cave and just get another? Or did you kill them all and they don't respawn?

I'm particularly interested in this "vampire overhaul" mentioned in some interview... Ironically, a big deal of my characters are vampires and assassins but I'm not very excited in becoming that vampire lord, I'd more have the regular vamp abilities revamped(got it? >D)... you know something about better vampiric drain and such... concerning the beastial forms I'm more interesting in starting a new character to play that Werewolf perk tree.

I'm pretty sure they respawn after ahwile I'll find a video on youtube about it here.. Couldn't find anything about their respawn time.. I do remember doing this quest at like around 30 and dropped them at the inside part of whiterun and they've stayed there.. I'm level 55 now.. I don't think they disappear.

i dislike this vampire lord thingies. they are way too over the top for me. i were just wishing for improved vampires, not for vampire lords that lose everything human

I think that this will actually make me want to be a vampire and not stay a werewolf to avoid it. That is the only reason I stay a werewolf. I also hope that they add a skill tree for vampirism and maybe lycanthropy (werewolfism)
