Dawnguard Vampires - Which Bloodline?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:05 pm

So, as I'm sure most of you know, Vampires in TES gets different powers dependant of which bloodline it belongs to. What I'm wondering is, which bloodlines would fit the description of the ones in the Dawnguard trailer? I'm thinking that they might be The Glenmoril Wyrd vampires from High Rock. They are said to be able to blend into society quite well (like The Order) but other than that, we don't know much about them. They could also have a fortress of the Northern coast of High Rock, which would probably have similar weather to Winterhold, much like what we saw in the trailer.

Anyone else have any ideas? I really hope that Bethesda uses a bloodline thats already in the lore, and don't just pull something new out of their asses.

We don't know if the Glenmoril Wyrd can blend in societies, only that they live within Breton cities. Who knows? They could live inside a damn castle hiding in a dungeon somewhere. I wish the Order were expanded and explained more, but if the Order were to be in Skyrim, it undoubtedly would have to involve the Thalmor since they are more political and pro-Empire.

there was a book in skyrim that said there was a type of vampire native to skyrim that would be the most logical choice but who knows they could be any bloodline in theory

In the trailer there is a fountain that looks like the statue of Namira I think it is. Perhaps it will be a gift or a curse from one of the daedra, although it could just be a new vampiric strain.

Yeah that's the one, I didn't have any comparisons so I couldn't remember exactly.

So I've been told. Wasn't sure if it was Bal or Namira. Pretty sure someone said it was Namira in another thread. But yeah, you're right. So maybe it's a molag bal curse or something.

Thats the Volkihair. They reside under frozen lakes in eastern Skyrim, but I honestly don't think these vampires look anything like what my idea of Volkihair vampires are :P I may be mistaken, but they don't look the part

No. It is Molag Bal. Check the image and then the Mace of Molag Bal. They have the same skeleton.

Lol I've already been told this twice. I heard it was Namira in another thread or something and so didn't bother checking.

Edit: Just saw what you replied to. I said in that post it was Molag bal. What is your point?

I just hope it's possible for an existing Vampire Player Character to "evolve" into this new/original strain of Vampirism.

If I have to go get a cure, then get reinfected... I've been running a Dunmer Vampire since almost day one. I've got a good thing going. He wants more power, not to lose it. :D

Maybe being a vampire is a requirement to join them ? Then they will morph Sanguine Vampiris into something new in your blood.

That book that mentions Volkihar vampires back in Oblivion was written by a vampire so why do people trust it as a source? So they can *&)*&*)$@ at bethesda for not following it.
