[Old World Blues] Dead Money character in Old World Blues?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:39 am

I was reading on the Fallout Wiki that Christine is going to be in Old World Blues and that this can affect the dialogue with her in Dead Money. So for everyone who has beaten Dead Money, will we have different dialogue with her if we kept her alive in DM or will it be weird where you never met her? Or will she just not be in OWB for people who beat DM?

I thought this was very strange since I thought the story of New Vegas goes with the dlc (meaning, the first one happens before the second and it just leads through that)

---------------------------------------

[http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Christine_Royce#Other_interaction] Qore episode 36 reveals that Christine can be interacted with during the events of Old World Blues, and that this will present altered lines during the events of Dead Money.

I think it's gonna be voice recordings, as if she is alive in Dead Money she stays as the casinos "guardian."

Which is fitting. She's BoS. 'Guardian' in this case likely means 'If you dare try to set one foot in here, regardless of who you are, you die.' No way she's letting people take that tech.

She is an assassin not a guardian, and not BOS anymore either I dont think, her speech made it a little unclear on that point,... I think she left because of BOS stand on homosixual relationships, and didnt Veronica say she (Christine) had left the brotherhood because Elijah had broken up their relationship himself ?

Based on the newest longest video review that just came out today from playstation mag.

As for the if you killed her part, They will probably just pretend that you didnt, for sake of the storyline,...... or maybe it is just recordings of her while she was there they are referring to ?

It seems that all this build up in the story leads to Ulesius (can't spell it). Honestly, I really could care less who this Ulesius guy is. I was interested in the meeting the burned man because he used to command the Legion forces and had a reputation as a tough S.O.B. that can't die. I actually believed that Joshua Grahm as the burned man was really a myth and the gamers were just trolling us, and then I find out I can meet him in honest hearts.
So that got me excited. But Ulesius? How is this guy important whatsoever and why should I even care? Frankly I'm much more interested in getting tech and perks than meeting this (former?) frumentarri. Isn't the point of foreshawding, is to get you interested?

Ulysses is the original courier that was going to deliver the Platinum Chip. He is also a Legion assassin and seems to know the player character. John Nash in Primm makes a reference to him too.

considering what the big empty is my guess is that the christine in old world blues is either a clone of the original or the original.

This is giving me a headache. Is Chris Avenolle trolling us ?

"he said most people were like couriers, never understanding the message they were bringing." -Christine.

Wow , that was deep stuff Chris. Keep up the good work. You totally got me interested in Ulessius with that one.

She is an assassin not a guardian,

She was a scribe and the role she takes at the end is guardian of the Sierra Madre.

and not BOS anymore either

Regardless she was Brotherhood before.

I dont think, her speech made it a little unclear on that point,... I think she left because of BOS stand on homosixual relationships, and didnt Veronica say she (Christine) had left the brotherhood because Elijah had broken up their relationship himself ?

No, Veronica says it ended but he never says Elijah make them brake off.

Christine says (well gestures) that Elijah make then brake off, the exact details are not given but my impression was Veronica was unaware of Elijah role in the end of their relationship, that also makes me suspect as the BOS due to how their membership is "keep in the family" takes a poor view at homosixual relationships but does not go father then that (as someone leaving the Brotherhood is even worst for them) but Elijah pulled some strings and then having Elijah going AWOL was just the last drop for Christine, I see no indication they made Christine leave the Brotherhood because Veronica is under the impression their relationship ended because of the Brotherhood views, no way in hell would Elijah being able to cover up the fact one of the scribes was thrown out, not to say Christine would be unaware of Elijah movements since he only became a outcast to the Brotherhood when he vanished during the battle of Helios One that was a somewhat recent event, before that he was a Brotherhood Elder.

Yea, it's not really jivin with me either. They havent sold me on that character yet. Im far more interested in seeing Christine return. Hopefully she can go back with you to the Mojave where she can be with her woman, but I doubt it.

i just hope OWB will finally dispell the fog hiding Veronica and Christine's relationship but i doubt it

maybe Christine programmed a hologram of herself to watch the Sierra Madre while she made her way back west.

That's so smart! Because the ending does say that the Ghost People eventually see her as another hologram :touched:

That would be the best. Then you could bring that Christine back to Veronica!

If your Courier didn't mysteriously forget everything he had known about the two again...

Just because she's the guardian doesn't mean she can't ever leave.
I think we'll see her and Ulysses talking via a video hologram from the time they were there, but that's just my opinion.
We do see her and Ulysses doing voice work together in the preview, so I think it's a good guess.

From an interview. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Christine_Royce#Other_interactions

But that interview never said anything about altered lines in Dead Money, unless it's referring to a different interview than the Qore one?
