I bought both DLCs for Fallout NV last week and i have completed the honest hearts DLC. when i was going to the bunker i found out that it was locked and required a key. WHY!?

i've read some topics on ''The vault'' the fallout wikia, that if you delete the patch then go to the bunker it is fine. but i cant! my character is level 40 and has items from the honest hearts DLC. and if i delete the patch honest hearts wont load. that means my character wont load either. is there any other way to access the bunker?
