Dead Money Vending Machine

Post » Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:48 am

I was just wondering if there is going to possible be a update where, once you finish Dead Money, the vending machine in the bunker gets all the upgrade codes. Or a update where we can return to the Seirra Madre to get any items we missed. Does this count as spoilers? If so just disreguard and delete this post.

You can free roam SM once deal with Elijah, most of the red mist would be gone.

Im already back in the Mojave, i just wish I could travel back to the Sierra Madre area to A. Explore somemore and B. Gamble with the holograms. Plus without those codes, Im missing out on some cool stuff (so hard to explain without Spoilers)

Since you can roam the Sierra Madre grounds to your heart's content after finishing the quest line, thus picking up anything you missed, it's highly unlikely they will do this. I can see why you'd want it, though, since some of those codes are easy to miss when you're trying to get in and out of some of the holes in the walls fairly quickly so you don't get your head popped by a speaker or radio.

I just think it would add to the value of the DLC, like with Honest Hearts where you can free revisit the area.

Ive done that before, but playing through the whole game again, just to get one missed item is so tedious.

On a smiliar note in reguards to this topic. Why was there no Cosmic Knife code for the vending machines? While how the Cosmic Knives were so associated with the Seirra Madre, I would have thought that you could get the knifes from the vending machines (it would have made it easier to craft knife spears)

If you are on PC this can be very easily modded in (or you can just use console commands for the items), both options are easy and fast.

The knives are made from a special alloy or something that the vending machines presumably can't reproduce. Besides, according to a note somewhere, FAR too many were ordered than were necessary, while the people using them didn't like them because they were WAY sharper than they should of been, so even if the machines could replicate the knife's material, no one (plotwise) requested a code to unlock them. A code might theoretically exist, but it'd presumably be on a terminal somewhere that may be broken, or even located outside of the Sierra Madre, not printed on a holotape somewhere inside of it

The alloy was supposedly found in the big empty by Elijah. Maybe you find some in OWB and can craft new weapons.
