Deadly Dragon just stressed me...

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:20 pm

I played the game with Deadly Dragon mod, hardcoe level (+vanilla game Master level), something about double/triple the dragon health pool and their damage, add few resistance for them.

I'm an archer, fully developed, and summoner, the best i can cast is storm astronaut.

my follower playing as my tank.

this time, i (level 54) shortcutted some path through moutain cliff, some typically my tank is missing.
but bad timing, storm dragon popped. ouch!

I been keep 1 shotted by it's lighnting breath dunno how many times.
my stome/or-whataver astronaut is no match for it, the most is storm astranaut can decoy the dragon about half minutes max, need to pop few cokes to refill my magicka.

the only way I can manage to solo (coupled with my summons) the dragon, is stay near it, and keep shotting arrows, the moment my decoy downed, pop another.
whenever it fly off, it's a little god-bless release time for me, as i can move around near area i can hide like behind stones, regen my magicka abit.
when come to the time it landed down fulltime, this is the most freakest hard time, it seems to kill my summon more faster and easily, and staying near it will get slammed by it's tail.
furthermore, it summon storm spell, the frost bolt is freaking deadly, i can be 2-shooted from full healthe (around 250 health).
the only I managed to kill it, run faraway from it when it's distracted by my summon, snipe from faraway, and still need to keep moving due to the storm frost bolt.

it took me more than 30 times to kill this dragon, something about 1 hour.

it took me more than 30 times to kill this dragon, something about 1 hour.

I`m only level 20 and it took me about 30 minutes to kill a Dragon too- and that was with the whole guard around me. Funnily enough, the second Dragon I had to fight with Delphine tok only about 10 minutes. Guess that must be the Mod creating different levels of Dragon at any time. Bear in mind that i`m a strict warrior and don`t cast spells of any kind. I also use the realism eat, drink sleep Mod so my health does not magically regenerate after hiding behind a rock!

If a Dragon appears when I`m on my own I run away either to hide or to a cave or to the nearest settlement with guards. I can`t kill a Dragon alone at the moment. Once, I even jumped down the side of a Mountain and lost it!

But I love it, every venture out means I have to stock up like crazy and make sure I have everything I need and still be careful.

*insert storm astronaut joke*

Also, that sounds like an epic battle.
Btw. Dragons have lightning breath??? By the slaughterfishystick... I've never seen one yet. That's amazing.

The OP is using the "deadly dragons" mod I think it adds 4 more dragons (swamp, storm, magma, dont know 4th one).

Thanks, I didn't know that comes with the mod... I'm now tempted to download it.

I play on the xbox so no mods for me but my dragon killing tactic has stood the test of time! I either take cover and take pot-shots at em till it lands or try and put as many arrows in it as I can while it hovers, once it hits the ground I switch my tactics from deffensive to offensive and run up on the dragon, this seems to confuse em just a little bit but it's enough to position, which is right next to the hip. As far as my experiance is with dragon slaying, this is the sweet spot where the dragon is unable to hit you with it's tail and the wings tend to keep it from snaping at me, and all you do is a little dance with the dragon, if it turns right you follow / if it turns left you follow, making sure that you remain next to that hip. If it mannages to take off you just repeat the process of deffensive cover taking w/ a volly of arrows, offensive while not being too aggressive on the ground and right placement of both you and your blows. This works flawlessly with the vanilla dragons, I can see it just taking longer with your mod on, but it should still work.

I find that my ESA astronauts are a little underpowered. Once I switched to NASA all my problems went away.

The Deadly Dragons mod changes dragons considerably. The OP is using the hardcoe mod which gives them triple health, armor, a much higher damage output, and the Storm Dragon is one of the hardest ones.

When battling a Dragon I love using spellbreaker to protect myself from what ever they are breathing at me. It also allows me to take them head on if I so choose.
