I know some people trade him out as soon as possible, but I've consistently gone back to the pup during my travels in Fallout 4. Owning a GSD myself, it really does a good job in portraying that intelligent and independent breed. Very early on in more focused moments, I caught myself multiple times beginning to say, "Stay over here, Moose." as Dogmeat starts to stray ahead or wander. From the restless whining to the tip tapping of dog nails on floors, it all just screams authentic.
Your time and effort in Dogmeat really paid off, at least for me, so thank you.
P.S. It has also managed to remind me to love my real bub and make sure he gets plenty of attention, too.

(before I met dogmeat, the dog in Fable II was my favorite)
It`s always my first companion. I just can`t leave poor dog alone in this horrible world. He is too adorable to leave him alone. But I sent him to rest in my settlement at higher levels.
