"I think I'll go for a nice stroll through Riften this evening, enjoy the conversation. I could do with a little quie..... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???!!!"

That was my reaction about 10 minutes ago as I walked out of Honeyside to a city wide brawl that was taking place. I stepped out of Honeyside to arrows flying past my face as a couple guards chased down a thief, just across the walkway I heard the crackle of lightning as Maven and a Master Vampire were having a duel, Mjoll and Aerin were fighting off a couple Thralls, and 3 of the shopkeepers were chasing down two more thieves. In hindsight, I did a very bad thing next, and summoned a Dremora Lord and one of my own Thralls. To my horror, Aerin died from a fireball to the face as he stepped in front of my Thrall. As the thieves died, everyone ganged up on the Vampire Master who was still svcking away, when the ground started shaking. My worst nightmares came true as an Ancient Dragon flew overhead, setting the town to fire.

When all was said and done, Riften lost Aerin, 6 guards, 3 thieves, one priest and the Argonian shopkeeper.

It was probably the coolest 10 minutes I have ever played in any game.

That still isn't as good as seeing a dragon flying past you with a chaurus reaper glitched onto his face and a bear on his back.

But these moments really make you wonder what's going on when the Dovahkiin isn't around.

And this is why you live in Solitude or Whiterun.

Riften is the party town. I've seen more massive brawls erupt in that city than anywhere else in game. Besides the CW quest line, anyways.

Though, Whiterun had it's moment in the spot light a few nights ago. As I walked in through the main gate, I saw a thief being chased by guards and citizens alike. And a few seconds later, 5 bandit chiefs spawned and [censored] just hit the fan when they came after me.

The bandit attacks happens from time to time. I get accosted by them pretty much everywhere once a month it seems. But the thief? I've never, ever witnessed a thief spawn outside of Riften in over a dozen playthroughs.

That actually sounds pretty cool. I don't have Dawnguard yet, since I'm on pc. But these random attacks seem to make the game unpredictable. Which is pretty cool imo.

It's remind me of bloody battle in Rorikstead. When the town got attacked by three dragons, a giant, and two sabrecats.

I love Riften for because of the random fights, but this was the biggest I'd ever experienced. I wish I was playing on PC, I'd turn Riften into something even cooler. So much untapped potential for the town.

EDIT: Damn it! One more casualty, I didn't see his body anywhere, but a courier just gave me his inheritance. Balimund died. This svcks. lol I had been holding off to start the Dawnguard content until such time as I thought my character was ready, but now it's time to bring the fight to the Vamps.

I was just walking through Riften after reading this and I hear a guard yell "Thief!". I ran to see what happen. I ran by this man taking a stroll and the word "Thief" popped up. So there was this Thief, clearly caught and clearly giving no [censored]. He strolled leisurely as dozens of arrows flew by him. I don't know what was more histerical, the thief's care-free attitude or the lack of aim that the guards had.

Both.

It's absolutely hilarious how piss poor NPCs are with bows. I watched two "hunters" chase a deer until it got stuck between a couple of rocks, and it took them about a dozen or so shots combined just to hit the thing...10 feet away.
