Death of a Wanderer - he doesn't die!

Just a little carping here, I suppose. I'm just wondering why this book contradicts itself, even in the title. The book starts off talking about "... the last time I saw the old Argonian" and "...he was in the throes of death" and implies in the title that the Argonian died. However, at the very end of the book, the storyteller says "When he awoke several days later..." and never mentions him dying.

I get what you mean, but the book also mentions that he tried to laugh and ended up coughing up blood everywhere. The book itself denotes that the Argonian is deciding who gets what in his will, and he's sleeping for days at a time. I figured it just meant that he was a lizard man of particularly strong will, since most other people who probably have died by then.

.. the last time I saw the old Argonian" and "...he was in the throes of death"

Niether of these lines from the book indicate he died (or is dead) it to me reads as if the argonian was on his last ''threads'' of life like a coma or something (just chucking an example in not meant to be accurate) and ''he awoke'' .

i've read many, many books in life which use lines and things like these you just have to read a little more carefully and sometimes inbetween the lines themselves words generally have more than just one meaning to them.
