Debug Methodology

I made a few changes to a dungeon I'm working on and now the game crashes when I try and load a game, or when I start a new one.

Suddenly, it occurs to me that, short of undoing my changes one by one, I have no idea how to solve the problem. Furthermore, there doesn't seem to be a general thread on debugging techniques. So, (not without a degree of self interest) I thought I'd start one.

How do I go about finding the cause of my crash. How should we go about debugging in general when workng with the CK? What's best practice here?
