I had a real odd moment while fighting NPC ghosts, my character ended up doing a finisher that cut off the ghost's head off (blood and all) like it was a flesh and blood opponent. Anyone else experience this or weirder, as this is a low priority issue that should be addressed.
Yup, ghosts are all crittable. I do feel cheaper than normal when I go around throat slitting incorporeal beings. They should be immune to criticals/vitals/sneak attacks. But TES really doesn't do that like say DnD.
Mostly because al lthey are is "normal" creatures wit hthe ethereal property turned on. During the companions questline when you have ot fight the ansestor spirits I left the dungeon to stash some loot to free up space and when I came back the etheral property wasn't on anymore and they where all normal looking guys and girls and just spawn in front of the tombs.
Ghosts are pretty badly done in Skyrim. They are basically normal people with just a transparent mesh. No real effort has been made to make them seem more ghostly. They shouldn`t drop material weapons. Criticals should not work on them and they should sound more ghostly.
I had that happen to me, but i liked it. I'm tired of games where ghost live by different rules than every one else. If a ghost can hit me, than i should be able to hit it.
The problem with ghosts in Skyrim is that they are just regular NPCs with a shader attached to them. So if you kill a ghostly warrior you can even loot metal armor and stuff from his body, and they can be decapitated and probably spill blood like regular npcs.
If they are ethereal they should be unhitable right? With a solid weapon yer...............
Well dwemer weapons and silver affects them in the lore world of Skyrim. I think magically enchanted weapons do. Normal weapons shouldn`t. They didn`t in previous games.
