Decrucifixion

Have you ever wanted to try and help those crucified NPCs?

This lets you attempt to free or euthanize some of them. Your chance of succesfully getting them down alive depends on your medicine skill, your luck, and whether you use a regular or super stimpak, and is greatly increased by having the Living Anatomy perk. There is also a chance of healing their limbs, though your luck is not factored into this.

Attempting to save them requires one stimpak, and if successful will give you karma and a small reputation bump if applicable. If you have Med-X in your inventory, you will also have the option to euthanize them. This will always succeed, but will only give you a smaller karma bump. The Legion will consider interfering with a crucifixion to be an act of hostility, so don't do it in front of them unless you're looking for a fight.

Rescued Powder Gangers will head to the NCRCF. Rescued slaves can be directed to Aerotech Office Park if you have discovered it, the Old Mormon Fort if you have been to Freeside, or left to wander the wasteland. The NCR trooper will go to Camp Forlorn Hope.

I did not give the option to save or euthanize quest-related NPCs.

An optional plugin, Decrucifixion - More Victims.esp, is also included. This adds a few more crucified NPCs to Nipton and one to Cottonwood Cove. These NPCs were already placed in FalloutNV.esm but were disabled, and I couldn't find any scripts that referred to them; I'm working under the assumption that they were disabled to improve performance on consoles and lower-end PCs. If this does break anything, please let me know.

Cool. When I first played I assumed I could put them out of their misery or free them, like the ones at Nelson. I was a bit annoyed that they were only for decoration.

This may just be what I'm after. Will try it out :)

The ones who were near death and unable to save.... I left them to begin with, but when I came back days later.... I gave them each a Bullet to the brain!! Better to die quickly like that, than to stretch out the agony for months....

For I the best way to Decrucifixion is to shoot them in the head. Its too painful for the sufferer.

does it require your character to have a highish medical skill.
if not could this be considered? would make sense for the mod and make the medicine skill more relevant.

perhaps also some sort of small reward from the survivors like if you had a highreputation in megaton...

There is no hard threshold, however your medicine skill is the biggest factor in whether or not you will be successful.

I've given that some consideration, but I came down on the side of no rewards other than karma and reputation increases. I don't think there should be any expectation of a reward, you either help them or you don't.

Seems to me that anyone crucified in the desert is going to last more than a day, regardless of medical skill. that said, it seems to me that it should be much harder to save these folks.

I too was incredibly disappointed in the fact that crucified NPC's could not be saved. I resorted to putting bullets in them everytime I encountered one but have always wanted to save them. Will be DLing this the next time I play the game. AWESOME!!

DAMMIT!!! I was just getting ready to play FO:NV and wanted to DL this mod. I get to the nexus and it's been removed.

Any idea when it's getting re-released? Why no mention of it here?

Sorry, had to fix a nasty bug that was causing crashes on save in some instances. Will have it up again shortly.

Version 1.1 is up, it should fix the CTD on save issue for those who were experiencing it.

Ah, that may've been why I couldn't save anywhere in Nipton last night, most especially outside the deathtrap house with sandbags. I was most annoyed and didn't even think of this mod in my search for 'mods that may alter the area.'
I'll update, then :)
