Defiantly not going to happen, but would be cool...

So i'm getting more and more into roleplaying but i find that it kinda kills the mode when your in the local inn in Whiterun after a few days of adventuring and Dragonborn just sits there... saying nothing. Now imagine this...

You walk into the Bannered mane, take a sit on the bench around the fire. Your character relax's a bit, and then the stories start flowing. Your character starts talking about completed quests and bandit hideouts he has done. he starts talking about how he's slayed dragons, slayed trolls, his 7000 steps to High Horthgar.

What do you think? would that be cool? i mean it would be a pointless update and feature but still, Skyrim is more for Roleplayers, not hardcoe gamers who get a game done to get it done...

Edit: So this is really what would happen. You sit down on a bench or what ever, but it has to be in a inn. they after a short little bit, like 30 seconds, your character will just tell a synopsis of what happened in some of his quests. like lets say unbound. your character would pretty much say. "So there i was, caputred with some stormcloaks up in Helgan. one poor guy already had his head lopped off, i was up next. As i knelt down and looked the headsmen in the eye, i saw it, A dragon swoop down. i ran faster then i ever could. finally i cam across *insert who you followed* (lets say rolaf) So I followed him down through some tunles and that's how we escaped."

Something just quick and small like that, no detail, just a synopsis of the quest it's self.

As for the hideouts it would be pretty much "So i was up by *insert hideout here* and i came across some bandits held up there. So i storm the place. pretty good amount there, really getting my arm back with my sword"

As for a Dragon fight. "So i was out by *insert location here* when a saw a black shadow on the ground, looked up and by the Nine it was dragon, the size of this here inn! The passerbyers instantly joined in on the fight, arrows flying this way and that way, fire scorching the land. finally it ended, sure we had a few losses but the dragon was dead.|

Did that help explain what i meant by that? nothing fancy, just something to give Dragonborn some life.

Edit 2: and it's all automatic. You can just leave your controller and he just starts to say it, no need to navigate menus. and it's a real voice, but it's just a genaric voice, no picking fancy voices. only the Kajiit Orcs and Argonains get fancy voices...

Rather have actual game mechanics that promote or at least support RPing such as a hardcoe mode then what you suggested. I have done what you have suggested I don't need to click text after text to do such I just do it.

I'm waiting for the days when text-to-speech software is actually viable. Then we could do that. As well as go back to having MORE THAN A TINY NUMBER OF DIALOGUE OPTIONS like in Daggerfall and Morrowind.

Would take a lot of work to make sure that you can have your character say things the way you want them to. Good characters, bad characters etc.

Still a nice idea.

MY characters are all far too cool to boast - even the Nord ones. It might work, but I'd want to be able to choose my voice in the first part so I didn't end up with the voice of Farangar...
