Demo for Brink

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:43 am

I wish there was a demo or a trial for Brink because I'm not sure if I want to buy it or not, and if my computer will handle it. So I really want a demo/trial for Brink, what do you guys think?

I think that you alike everybody else should read the info compendium and know that there will not be a demo.

Greetings bombboy34, and welcome to the forum. A demo would be nice, and http://www.vg247.com/2010/05/07/splash-damage-still-talking-about-possible-brink-co-op-demo/. All we can do is wait and see.

I don't see any information about no demo http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1102014-brink-info-compendium-v2/.

Seeing as how Steam is offering the game, there will probably be a demo in the Store tab after the release.

True the devs have only announced it about a dozen times and people could look a bit before coming here and posting the exact same thing that was posted five minutes ago. (Note a slight exaggeration)

While it would be prefered that people do more research on their own before posting, there's no excuse for being rude towards them if they do not.

And a demo isn't the exact same thing as a beta.

Krytt believes a demo will not appear(i believe that too, it's the beta i'm not sure about),
but i can't see where he is rude, he's not very polite, but not being polite and being rude are different things in my book.

bombboy, the whole community would appreciate it, if you would in further occasions, search for likeminded threads, before making a new one. thank you for your time

they said they were not havng an open beta only one among the developers and their friends and family. they said the might have a demo but first and foremost they are working on finishing the game.

There possibly will be one. It's still being discussed but it will probably be a lot like Battlefield 1943 demo where you only have 30 min to play.

A demo has been spoken of between Developers. I remember reading somewhere (I think on Kakota site) that they have been thinking about releasing a demo closer to 2011 and that they are at pre-beta stages atm :)

Demo's don't slow down game release. They are taken specifically from the game and limited by how far you can get so that people can get a taste of the game :)
Also it does get really irritating when people are given beta and don't help the developers improve the game. Someone useful could have tested it and helped out.

I would comment on the sheer number of these threads but other than that I think they should do a public closed beta.

beta and demos aren't a given right and only a privilege

something gamers are forgetting

giving a free taste of a game is hard work

i say do a 1 level demo basically the container city in the vid and do it when the game is sent to manufacturing and release it then as a marketing tool

I would agree...it is not a right of any gamer to expect a demo/beta. But the smart developers out there release a beta so that the bugs can be worked out AHEAD of time.

i believe in devolopers finding all the bugs, i dont believe there is a community that will play this game sole bent on breaking it compared to other gaming communities like cod were there are teams of players sole reason on playing the game is to break at any means. i dont think Brink is that type of game while it will still have its bug finders. also hasn't this game been delayed to continue polishing and tuning. that there is a good sign.

Yes, I saw that and put in for one copy. It says it's to be out "soon", "soon" can't come soon enough for me.

You could also try tracking down the game play trailers, there should be a bunch on YouTube or you could just use Google or other search engine to find some. Although not the same as actually playing a demo, they should give a fair idea as to how the game works and what it'll be like. As for whether your PC might be able to run it you may just have to wait for final requirements to make a call on that. If you are using a console then you shouldn't have to worry about that.
