A demonstration of how mods can make Skyrim look like.

Post » Wed Jun 27, 2012 3:11 am

After a thorough investigation as to what mods I should use to improve Skyrim, I came up with a bunch and this is how the game looks before and after installing them. (For now I just have this one screenshot comparison which is of course quite unrepresentative of the whole Skyrim world).

Before:

After:

Installed mods that have an effect on the view in the screen shots:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7654
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1123
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8655
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8262

This is just to demonstrate what you can achieve with only a few well-picked mods that suit their purpose and have a very tolerable FPS hit.

Cheers

HI there Kikka!

Realistic lighting with customization
Tobes Highres Textures
Static mesh improvements
More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fix

This is just to demonstrate what you can achieve with only a few well-picked mods that suit their purpose and have a very tolerable FPS hit.

Cheers

Is it just me or are these links broken?

Copy paste the name to google. Its the first link for each one! I'll put them to OP for ease of usage.

P.S. The links should work now!

Hi again.

That's like a 3000% improvement!

Tell me about it. Without the mods, Skyrim suddenly looks like a candy world with fake colors and lighting. The mods add incredible realism to the view.

Also, the FPS drop indoors is minimal for me. Only Dynamic Shadows Mod can readuce FPS in places where there are many light sources. I have other mods like the Flora Overhaul that drop performance in outdoors a little bit. Static mesh improvement can also be a little bit taxing ourdoors.
