Well there's your answer OP. If Burton directs it, he'll find a way to make one of the main characters some off-balanced crazy person and give the part to Depp. It's a fundamental law of the Hollywood Universe.

At least that picture we saw of Depp in stark white make up doesn't reflect his normal look for the character.
