Describe your Dragonborn

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:50 pm

Basically, tell us in a paragraph or two what race your Dragonborn is and what ideology he espouses. We have plenty of people saying they have deeply personal in-game reasons for supporting the Stormcloaks or Empire while others don't care about the Civil War at all. Others are very committed thieves who find the whole destiny thing silly.

So share and share alike.

You can also mention other characters than your main one but I suppose we should try and keep it from filling pages.

Race = Nord
Ideology = I'm a spawn of evil and randomness. The prince of randomness, chaos and disorder! I defile, kill and cast rage spells in anything that moves. And I kill horses. That's my "Way of the MARRETA"

Race= Imperial
Ideology= Whatever the mission requires have been a Battle Mage, Spell Sword, Warrior , Thief , Assassin and Archer.

I Created my character to be well balanced in all aspects of the game but focused around sneak, destruction, one-handed, and range.

I attempted to play the embodiment of Chaotic Good. The Dragonborn is just some schmuck from the Empire wandering around Skyrim, I imagine him as a peddler of spoons and so on who just happened to look like a linebacker, when he was caught in the raid on Ulfric Stormcloak. It took a little while for him to get caught up in his role as a hero of destiny. After all, he was a self-taught mage and had never killed anyone before in his life before he executed the person who was going to execute him.

One cool thing was that despite the fact he had many friends amongst the Stormcloaks like the people who rescued him or the ones who helped him on his Thalmor fortress raid, the Dragonborn kept a loyalty to the Empire. It was with a heavy sadness he ended Ulfric Stormcloak's rebellion with his Daedric sword (Azura's power infused with it - enchanted with her star) and he wished he could have made a lasting peace at the Greybeard's summit.

He refused to be a part of many Daedric quests, wiped out the Dark Brotherhood, didn't join the Thieves Guild, and didn't become Archmage until after the main quest. He also married Mjoll the Lioness.

I use the role of MARRETA. It's a perfect mixture of Chaotic Revolted Evil and defiler of reality. Bender of time and space.

Race - Female Khajiit with fluffy fur and huge... tracts of land.
Ideology - Imperial supporter, with a bloodlust for Thalmor. I'll probably describe more later.

My first character is a Nord - Brigid Keltinga, who just returned to her beloved Skyrim. The hatred against the Thalmor had burned within her for many years and she had taken it upon herself to join various resistance groups, to deal blows against the Altmeri Dominion. She has spent various years abroad fighting, but decided to return home, only to show up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Mistaken as a rebel, Brigid was unceremoniously bound and shoved up the wagon with other Nord rebels. It saddened her to find her homeland in such a state and again blamed the Empire for bowing down to every decree the Altmeri would seem fit to enforce.

She was about to plan her escape in Helgen, when a dragon swooped down upon the town with such fierce force, it was easy to get away in the ensuing chaos.

"Talos be praised," she thought.

She followed the Nords, to learn more about the Stormcloak rebellion. So, her path took her to Windhelm, to Ulfric's side.

Woops, I think that's more than one paragraph... lol

Sethia
Race: Argonian female
Goals: To become more powerful. She prefers to attack with spells from stealth.

Zriza
Race: Dunmer female
Goals: To survive, make money, and eventually dominate through infiltration. She intends to become leader of the thief and assassin guilds once she's joined them. Morals are not a strong point.

Grim Bloodhand
race-Nord
background--decendent of the CoC, turned Merc to carve out his own name and to try to outdue his ancestors achievements. After the Empire peace treaty, grim goes underground and rallys resistance with guerilla tactics with the help of soem empire's military officials who want to get back and help slow the recovery of the thalmors forces. after quite a few years of very successfuls ambushes and sabotagesof the thalmors officials and convoys, the thalmor catches wind and forces thew officials to set up a trap for grim and his grp. Demoralized by watching his friends and comrades get slaughtered in an ambush by the empire military of the very people who had helped him the past few years, watching them fight hand and hand against Grim's men...in his heart for seeing thier betrayal and weakness sees the empire just as dispiclble as the thalmor. grim was the lone surviver of the ambush and whiel on the run from the empire and thalmor together, accidently runs into the stormcloaks and causes their capture..

beserker class, sees Skyrim his motherland a place of starting over, of fixing the problems that plagued his last home, a place that Tiber Septim himselve came from and where else could he get th chance bypass and overcome his decendent's fame. The CoC can have cyrodill, Grim will carve out his name in the chest of every thalmor and imperial and on every corner of Skyrim.

My imperial started out with the best of intention after getting one last chance at life from the chopping block. It wasn't long before he headed to the College of Winterhold seeking the noble path and becoming arch mage. While starting with the most honorable of intentions, the grim reality of Skyrim and the overall selfish nature of people began to take it toll on him. With the constant threat of dragons lurking overhead and the plethora hostile people and creatures around every corner he came to realize that being dragon born is is as much a curse as a blessing. By joining the companions he had hoped for one last chance at salvation by bringing honor in death to those who are no longer fit to inhabit Skyrim. But this left himwith fur in the ears, a thirst for blood and hungry for the payouts of gold.

Early on these strange encounters with Daedric forces began to shape his view of the world. A chance encounter lead to an arrangement with the thieves guild that brought out pure greed and a reckless nature in the mage. Soon after a meeting with Cicero and doing one last act of kindness by killing an evil head of the orphanage, he woke up in a strange place and succumb to Astrid's will. My imperial is now aligned with all the dark forces but loyal only to his greed, thirst for blood and the overwhelming need to avoid dragons. While skilled in the arts of magic he has taken to hunting people in the shadows with powerful archery skills and milling about the cities to pickpocket and rob houses during the day while waiting for the cover of night to assassinate those I know only by golden bounties.

Race = Redguard

Ideology = As an agent of Hammerfell, sow chaos, backstab, and double-cross as many people and factions as he can. Give the Stormcloaks Markarth? Whoops, Forsworn from Cidhna Mine just attacked the city and killed most of the guards! He steals as many documents, notes and dossiers as possible from the Empire, Stormcloaks and Thalmor, all the while taking out their soldiers, agents and spies whenever he can.

Race = Dunmer

Ideology = F*** the Stormcloaks. He joins the Legion even though they tried to execute him and relishes killing as many Stormcloaks and Stormcloak sympathizers as possible whenever possible.

Race = Nord

Ideology = Skyrim for the Nords!

Vriddi is an Orsimer warrior and smith. Her goal is to be the finest smith she can so she has also taken up enchanting to further improve the goods she crafts. Shes generally a good type, although shes never refused a reward if offered. Currently undecided about the Civil War but leaning towards the Imperials on the theory that a strong Empire is likely to be better for her people. Her only encounter with a Thalmor was when a Justicar helped her slay a dragon. She regrets having to kill him but he attacked her after she said she would worship who she wanted (which if he had asked would've been Malacath, not Talos).

Race: Bretton

Description: he's sort of Schizophrenic. he's a nice, honorable man but has tendencies to murder and steal (since he's an assassin);

i play him like he has some inner dispute that although he's not a cold-blood killer, he knows it needs to be done and is really good at it - especially to those he really feels deserves it. he's a good soldier - he does what is asked of him. so, a lot of pretending is required - when he walks in towns, he walks as if he's noble but little do people know he's an assassin, waiting for whatever opportunity and taking it when he sees it fit.

he might be a little impulsive and while he doesnt really align himself with a particular daedra, he's open to most, if not all, culture to a point where he can seem fanatical.

makes any sense?

in other words: (i may not know what the F i'm really doing with my DragonBorn haha!)

Cheza is an Imperial assassin, she spent most of her life as a vampire and has just recently joined the ranks of the living. The first thing she did as a mortal was fight alongside the stormcloak rebellion. If you can't choose who you want to worship then you're not free!

She is wholly unhappy about discovering she is dragonborn. She came upon this realization very late in life and wants absolutely nothing to do with Ancient Dragons or this Alduin creature. The power of the Thu'um has helped her become a more efficient assassin and thief but the responsibility that had come along with it really isn't worth it.

Name: Grim, son of Gunnar and Lisbet

Race: Nord

Class: Warrior, with speciality in one handed swords and shields

History: Grim was born in the Imperial City shortly after the end of the Great War, to Gunnar and Lisbet, a carpenter and his wife. They had moved there from Bruma to take advantage of the rebuilding effort. Sadly, they were also both avid Talos worshipers, and when Grim was seven, Gunnar was taken away during a Thalmor raid on a underground Temple of Talos, and was never seen again. Lisbet tried to take care of Grim on her own, but died in a traffic accident when he was 12. Grim was then taken in by a close friend of the family, a Dunmer baker named Barenziah, who cared for him as though he was her own. This upbringing left Grim with a longing to know more about Nordic culture and a distinctly non-racist worldview. Living in the poorer part of the city, Grim was the bakery's delivery boy, and learnt swordplay from Barenziah's brother Matthias in order to defend himself from the many criminals who stalked the streets and alleyways. At age 23, Grim grew tired of the life of poverty and strife within the Imperial City's walls. He bade goodbye to Barenzia and Matthias, gathered up his few meager belongings and left, intending to visit the land his parents were born in: Skyrim. There, he hoped to find out more about them, and about himself.

I've got 3 so far.

Name: Markkas Corinthal
Race: Imperial
He's a Lawful Good Paladin of Stendarr whose family has served in the Legion for generations. He continues that legacy and is loyal to/believes in his Empire despite the troubling times. He will go out of his way to aid captives of the Thalmor (and most anyone else really) and still believes in Talos as a Divine though his devotion is to Stendarr. He prefers to try diplomacy first but will fight when necessary. He's a gentleman knight in harsh Viking land, so conflict is to be expected, but he sticks to his code of honor and ideals as much as possible.

Name: Nadinyon Oblodra
Race: Dunmer
Nadinyon is a deadly Nightblade and Mind-Mage who uses his powers and prowess to gain wealth and respect throughout Skyrim. He is of Neutral Evil alignment and is an accomplished mercenary and assassin. He cares little sentimentally about the civil war. He went with Ralof to kill the Imperial captain and went to join the Stormcloaks later. After getting the crown, he decided to kill the rest, wound Galmar and Ralof, and hand it to the Imperials (he doesn't care a ton for his fellow Dunmer, but thought it would be a wiser move to turn his coat and go where he was sure a Dunmer would be respected). He's in the DB though, and won't have a problem killing the Emperor as long as the money is good.

Name: Wulfgar
Race: Nord
He's a Chaotic Good Nord Barbarian who was born in Bruma but decided to go see the homeland of his forefathers. He will join the Stormcloaks and become fast friends with Ralof. He believes Skyrim can do well enough as an independent state, and fights toward this goal. He is untrusting of magic but is fine with people of all races. He seeks a good fight wherever he can find it, and will wade into battle with Talos' name on his lips. (In progress at the moment, but I know pretty much how I'll play him. He'll
likely do the Companions, MQ and Civil War as well as plenty of misc. quests.)

Race: Dunmer (my first character was a Nord, but with Morrowind being my first TES game, I've played mainly Dark Elves, especially since I like their Warrior/Mage skill bonus set)

Ideology: After playing the game for 2 days? Try to remember this isnt Cyrodiil, so its okay to work on the main quest, but keep an eye out for side quests and dungeons I come across in my wanderings. I've got two hands, so lets use them both, and I've got no use for shields.
