So I found some 4C and bought a detonator bit no boom. Do I have to sync/activate it some how?

Just plant the "c4" first, whip out your detonator, pull the trigger, and watch as things go boom. It should automatically sync themselves.

Hmmm it wasn't working will have to try again.

You also have to be in the same cell as the planted C4. No littering the whole strip with C4 charges and setting them off from Freeside.

Lol I was 2 feet from it because I wanted to test it. Admittedly had god mode on for that but was trying to figure out how to use it. So heres what I did, activated 4c (sorry but love the Stargate reference) in pipboy then used it like firing a gun. Activated and landed in place. Then activated detonator in pipboy and tried to trigger it

Place the C4 as if it was a mine, arm yourself with the detonator, stand back and left click.

So activate in pipboy then left click to throw/place or is that possibablt what I'm doing wrong?

Okay 1. Place the C4 explosive where you want it to explode.
2. Select the Detonator with PIPBoy.
3. Close the PIPboy with the Detonator still selected.
4. Fire that Detonator like a gun (but you don't have to aim as it's a radio signal).
5. C4 explodes :celebration: .
6. Smile evilly at firey goodness. :flamethrower:

Oh yeah be sure you are not using the Detonator you get from the Boomers during one of their quests. It doesn't work on C4.

When saying place activate then trigger right? Not drop from inventory (right click from inventory) and activate detonator

Just like a grenade... just make the c4 your active weapon and throw it where you want it.

Placing the C4 charges works exactly like a frag mine. To set them off just equip the remote detonator as if it where a gun and pull the trigger. Easy Peasy....

Just dropping from your inventory will not work. You must either equip it and throw it where you want, or reverse pickpocket it into some unsuspecting fool. Then you can detonate it.

Here is a good fun thing to do. Go where there are a group of 5 or 6 npcs, eat a stealthboy and carefully reverse pickpocket C4 into 2 or 3 of them. Equip the detonator and stand back, wait till they are in a clump and fire the detonator. If your outdoors you will laugh as bodies go flying everywhere. Good luck.
