[XP32sp2, 3gb, Gainward 295gtx, Creative Titanium]

Hi,
just after entering Devil's Reef, animations in inventory don't work: inventory interface itself fades in very slowly, Jack's ECG and animation (when selected for cures) are almost stuck, wounds sheet needs centuries to appear

I've tried either through Steam or old retail cd install, either with patching or not, same issue

any other game is working properly, I did not make any software or hardware changes to the system

reloading a former save (just from the preceeding chapter, Dangerous voyage) restores a working inventory, that quits working as as soon as I reload any Devil's Reef save
