[QUEST] Dialogue for Quest not showing up after renaming .es

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:38 am

Hi guys!
Hi Bethesda!

I′m having the same issue like this youtuber:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7iFKJk97Cc

It didnt go wrong for me right away though. My quest was working perfectly until I renamed the esp outside of the CK(or after the CK was patched without even notifying me?)

Now I can′t even start the quest(first topic info) when I rename the esp back, recompile every script in the quest and rename the "voice" folder to the new name...

Please help us!

p.s.:
Because this happened twice to me and to others as well(check the video) I think this could be an actual bug in the CK.
We need this issue fixed to get more working quests for Skyrim(maybe this is even the reason why we have so few new quests online)!

Are quests this uninteresting for all of you(and Bethesda)?

Rename the sound folder...there will be a folder under audio named "MyOldModName.esp" - the FOLDER is named that, it's not an ESP file. Rename it to "MyNewModName.esp"

OK, I'm not sure of the "right" way to do this, but move all the sound files into the folder where it stores the Temp.Wav and temp.Lip files. One at a time, rename the files to "Temp.Wav" and "Temp.lip" , go into your dialog, and click "Preview" to make sure which one you have, then go to the "right" dialog and click save. It will recreate the right file. Go back to the temp folder and rename the next pair to Temp.Wav and Temp.Lip and repeate this process until all your dialog is reloaded.
