Do you currently keep a diary? Have you kept one in the past?

I haven't really kept one ever. I made one diary entry after deciding to keep one for a year once, wrote in what I did for the 1st January 2005 (I do remember) and then gave up on it, thinking to myself my life just isn't that interesting to constantly say the same stuff with a little variation everyday.

Neither of my parents keep one. My gran does, but then she's retired and has all the time in the world :P

I called mine a journal. Made entries for about two weeks and then gave up. It was surprising to see how much I could write about a single day.

Yes, but it is more a chronicle of daily events rather than some sort of spilling out of my thoughts. "Concept project due - well received. Finished season 4 of Doctor Who." As opposed to "I had a concept project due, and while we were critiquing this cute guy in class..."

I kept a sort-of diary during my military service, listing all important events that occurred during that year.

Never have, never will. Because:

"9th of 9th, 2011: I put on the play station 3 and played demon's souls for many hours, then I went to sleep.
10th of 9th, 2011: Damn laggy DS servers, I played many hours DS again.
11th of 9th, 2011: Where is everyone? DS is dead, so empty.. But I still played it for hours."

xD

I keep a journal when I hike solo for more than 2 days, so that I can remember it clearly to tell my friends. After two days or soon your own, things start to blur together if you don't keep a written record. But as for a daily journal, I don't keep one and don't see the reason for me to keep one. Some of my friends who are going through rough times do though, and I can see how it helps them out. I can physically see them change after they've written in their diary, it's like it lifts the weight off their shoulders.

I've never kept a diary, journal, or log of any sort, although in the future I could keep a journal log of ideas and what not related to programming.

I kept a journal for a few weeks when I was a kid.

I did for about three months. I kind of liked it, but considering I'm too disorganised to even use a personal organiser (yeah, I know), expecting myself to keep a diary is a bit optimistic at best.

I used to keep a diary to try to organize my thoughts and to vent. I don't anymore.

Pretty much this. It's just a more in-depth daily schedule with short one-liner's about what I do, didn't do, and need to do.

As an architecture student, we're advised to keep a sketch book on us and use it to sketch, jot down ideas, whatever. So, I guess you could say I have a kind of journal, yeah -- not really a diary though.
