While I have been enjoying playing Skyrim a lot, i just wanted to highlight some of the quest frustrations I have recently encountered while using my non-magic using level 20 Nord Warrior.
Monday - The Companions: Let's be clear - I didn't at any point desire to become a werewolf and objected to having to become one to pursue the Companions quest. From a role-playing perspective my character would be entirely suspicious and hostile to shapeshifters. Nonetheless after reading on the forums that I would be able to cure myself I went ahead. I could have cured myself at the time when I cured Kodlak but didn't have enough health potions to beat both Kodlak's spirit wolf and my own. Since then I have been waiting in vain for the Purity quest to appear, running endless minor quests for the Companions. Finally the Purity quest appeared and myself and Farkas returned to the tomb where I was able to cure him...but not me. I have the witches heads but the place where you put them deactivates once I have used one head. Am I doomed to remain a werewolf forever?
Tuesday - Companions Radiant Dragonslaying Quests: "Lets go to Shearpoint and slay a dragon" says Vilkas. I already have a quest to slay the Shearpoint dragon but hadn't been able to complete it due to being attacked by a hooded mage at the same time. So Vilkas and I travel to Shearpoint and lo and behold there are 2 dragons there, the original and a new one. Ouch and reload. "Let's go to Mount Anthor and slay a dragon" says Vilkas the second time. So we travel to Mount Anthor and while there is indeed a great scaley beast there, it simply flies around and refuses to acknowledge our presence. Reload.
Wednesday - A Sorry Tale: At some point I picked up a Quest to go to Winterhold College. On arriving in Winterhold a dragon was terrorising the place, bombarding the town and refusing to land and fight. I was unable to complete my conversation with the woman guarding the college gate due to mostly being on fire :@ I decided to go back another time. In the meantime I have been following the Forbidden Legend Quest and collecting the Gauldur Amulet Fragments. Eventually I get to Saarthal which is locked with no sign of a key. Checking on the forums I discover I have to do a Winterhold College quest to gain access to Saarthal. On returning and finding the town to be dragon free I can now have my conversation with the gate woman. "Cast a Fire Atronarch Spell" says she to the non-magic using warrior. Searching around in my inventory I discover I happen to have that found that particular spell book so I quickly learn it. However I am unable to cast it because it costs 130 mana and being a non-magic using Nord Warrior.... Aaaaaargh! Looks like the College will remain out of bounds for me
