Did That Dragon Just Do That

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:27 am

So, I was fighting a Blood Dragon at a Word Wall, it's near Riften, but the father one near North Winds Mine near the little Shor place. Anyway, so this Word Wall has little houses or forts made by some people with a bed roll. I thought I was being smart and while the dragon sat on the rocks blowing fire I would duck into the house. He'd fly and then go after my horse and I'd go in and pump him full of arrows, he would land, I would duck into the house. And then midway the dragons lands. And I swear for the life of me this Blood Dragon takes his head and smacks the building I was hiding in. And then after he smacked the building he sticks his big head into the little entrance and tries to chomp on me. I'm pinned down taking out my two swords and just pumping sharp iron into him. Either he's going to kill me or I'm going to kill him. And I killed him and reaped my rewards.

Has this happened to anyone else? Cause that was amazing. I really saw him hit the little hut I was in. Pretty darn cool.

Had a similar thing happen to me at that location. Planned it all out and was quite surprised when he stuck his head in the opening and started biting me. Needlessto say my well thought out plan hadn't quite been planned as well as it should... >.< Have also had him blowing fire into the hut while I was in it so the hut isn't the safe house it might seem like. :P

It's awesome what kind of things dragons are able to do. I tried to hide in ruined tower and dragon sat on its walls and made it to be a fiery hell. I tried to avoid a hit of dragon and went to next of the wall of an inn and dragon landed on it's top and picked in his mouth the guard which was next to me.

A dragon's BBQ smoker. lol. I imagine now ruined towards as being where dragons smoke their meat.

I've seen a dragon poke its head in through the main entrance of a fort (the one north-west of Solitude) to get at the food inside. I was temped to see whether the dragon or the food won, but got bored and went for Plan C.

I gotta say, the crash landings always impressed me. At first I thought it was just scripted, but then I saw random dragons doing it. Granted, it's not as impressive on the dragon's part, but I find it impressive all the different things you can catch a dragon doing.

I'm always surprised when a dragon kills me with a tail slap. I try to approach from behind to avoid the fiery hell from its mouth - and get smacked down by its tail. I had one that was injured enough so it couldn't fly and I swear it chased me on the ground all over that area behind Dragonsreach...and I mean for a long time. Great dragons, just amazing. :tes:

I had an unnamed Frost Dragon land in front of me as I exited the gate near the Riften stables. It was many levels ago and was my first Frost Dragon encounter. I whipped out Dragonbane and proceeded to whack him in the face while he "iced me over." Then he spoke in the dragon tongue which the subtitles translated as "I tire of you." He then picked me up in his jaws, shook me like a ragdoll, then threw my lifeless body asise.

That was when I started using ranged attacks against dragons whenever possible.

The dragon encounters have been some of the most exciting battles I've seen.
I once had a Blood Dragon perched on the orphanage in Riften shouting fire into the market while the citizens and guards fought back. I love the disorientation and the controller shake when a dragon lands. And I always get a little nervous when they crawl/run towards me on the ground.
Good times. :)

What? Never happened to me, not ever. Only through scripted and named dragons have that happened, like the very first one.

I had one ancient dragon that I landed with dragonrend at the mages' college. I thought I'd recover health behind a pillar as a precaution but rather unexpectedly its head lunged straight through the column as if it wasn't there and my character died.

I had a funny instant while fighting the dragon that the OP mentioned. A few mimutes into the fight, it hurled out of the air and landed atop the word wall in its original position. For a tense few seconds, it stared at me and I at it, poised in that tough guy posture. Auddenly, it lifted off and we resumed the fight.
