Did the Incremental Patch Fix DLC Bug?

Post » Sun Feb 20, 2011 8:33 am

Hey all.

Since the PC version of the game got the most important part of the patch (for me at least), which is the file corruption fix, I have one question.

Was anyone who got the DLC save game error able to RELOAD that particular save after the patch came out?

I have my game on the 360, and that patch hasn't come out and I was wondering if I have to redo 13 hours of gameplay again. (If so, I'm not looking forward to wiping out the NCR camp again ^.^)

[Sorry if this was posted already, but I did try looking in some topics and could not find anything.]

DLC bug was exclusive bug for 360 only. It is a save file corruption bug that is prompted by the message saying something like: "This files relies on downloaded content which is no longer available."

Nobody know for sure what triggers this bug as many people have experienced it who have no internet connection on their 360's.

The DLC error message was exclusive to the xbox360 - the bug that triggers it is not. It is completely unrelated to DLC - rather this is the error users would get from the Vault 3 and REPCONN save-game corruption also experienced by some PC players and some PS3 players. This was fixed for most people with the incremental patch, though there did appear to still be ways to cause a save game to become corrupted in those areas. Some people with previously corrupted save games reported the games working again after the patch, but some people whose games had not become corrupted before the patch reported still being able to encounter corruption at the same loactions in the game - much much fewer people though.

So yeah the incremental fix seems to have mostly fixed it and I would hope the multi-platform patch will do so more comprehensively.
