I Did the quest wrong : V

i did the quest: Blood on the ice
and i put the mage in jail insted of talking to him first..
and now the quest is complete..

can i do something to go back.. coz i dont think that i have the save game before that

Is that the Windhelm mission where there is a murderer on the loose? I can't even get that mission to start, even have the key to the house and a diary, and it still won't start.

You will be able to resolve this quest at a later point.

I returned to Windhelm a couple of weeks later and found out the murders hadn't stopped. I talked to the wizard, which set the rest of the quest in motion

So i should keep on playing and it will proceed later on?!
