Difference between NPC Head Skin Tone and Body Skin Tone

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:41 pm

I'm currently making a custom companion mod, and the NPC I've created for it has a slight issue; his arms are significantly paler than his head (which is still Caucasian).

Does anybody know how I can rectify this in GECK? Screenshots can be provided if necessary.

You can fix this by converting your ESP to an ESM file using http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope.
I have no idea why, it just works this way.

Is that the only way you know of? I'd like to leave it an .esp if possible. Thanks for the link either way, though! :)

The other, rather awkward, solution is an ini-setting on the user side (bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1) .

Once you're done working on the mod, an ESM is preferable anyway as it will cause far less problems. The only difference between an ESM and an ESP is a single flag being set or not. You can always "convert" your ESM back to ESP.

And you don't use Nifskope but FOMM's integrated TESsnip or FNVEdit.

NIFSkope can convert module files? That's news to me...

What you want to use is FNVEdit.

Hmm, guess I'll just do the .esm thing if they are basically the same file. Thanks for the help!
