[Spoiler] Dilemma with Dark Brotherhood final quest.

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 8:08 am

My character is an Imperial assassin and I've planned to join the thieves guild, then the DB, and in some moment "retire" from them to become a member of the Legion, as Hadvar suggested at first. I haven't joined neither faction, i'm some kind of loner thief at the moment.

Sadly (by someone not marking it a spoiler ??) I read about the last quest of the DB were the PC has to kill the Emperor Titus Mede II. I'm for the Empire all the way, but i don't know how killing The Emperor can be either good or bad for the Empire itself and my joining to the Legion. That's in terms of gameplay. With the lore/ roleplaying part i'm concerned in the fact that I'll leave the Empire without ruler, idk if this is good or bad thing or even if this Emperor is good, I have heared mixed commentaries about him, and finally I have a professionalism vs belief dilemma (killing my own Emperor ) Moreso, i have read somewere that he's considered murdered by the DB after all, so even if I don't do the quest, he still will be considered dead in lore terms.

As I always state in my posts, sorry about my english, it's not my native language.

Thanks.

I'm an assassin, but also a true imperial who request "Age of aggression".

Honestly... Titus Mede II isn't the greatest Emperor. It's really up to you. It is implied by the guy who wants to kill him that you are doing a good thing for Tamriel by killing him, but he could be lying. Personally, I didn't have a problem with it, and I wouldn't have had a problem on my Imperial character if I hadn't decided to destroy the DB. Chances are he has an heir, and hopefully this heir will be competent.

Just pretend that you find a note on Maro saying that it was another double. That's what my legate did.

Or if you don't feel like killing that SOB, say you found the note on the Katariah, on the Captain or the Lieutenant.

IMO a poor leader is better than no leader. With people fighting for power in Cyrodil over the Empire, then I don't see how they can keep Skyrim under control and fight off the Thalmor. Thalmor would be in a good position to attack under that chaos.

DB route goes better with a stormcloak play.
