Hello;

I completed the Thieves Guild quest line prior to doing Diplomatic Immunity. Once I completed DI, I never recieved the followup quest, A Cornered Rat. This is not the sound bug that others have reported, I never even get a quest to talk to Esbern. I've used the console option, TCL, to "fly" through his locked door, but still am never able to progress any farther. Delphine will not give me the quest, as well as anyone in the Thieves Guild.

Please help me!

then take the voicesixtra.bsa ithats in your skyrim data folder and extract it into your skyrim data folder and this will fix your problem

But my problem is not "esbern don't speak/don't open the door" but Delphine don't give me the quest 'A cornered Rat'.

How did Delphine react when you talked to her? She realized that the Thalmor are after Esbern and ...?

And she talk about Esbern but she gives no quest at all...

First, try:
setstage MQ201 250
if that fails, try
setstage MQ201 255

If THAT fails, then skip to:
setstage MQ202 0 (incrementally), 1, 5, 10

I hate using setstage, but sometimes it's necessary to bypass certain glitches. The last one, via increment, may skip dialog...which is horrible, but if that's what it takes....then you gotta do what you gotta do.

Does ANYONE have an update on this?

There are dozens of threads out there about this and no solutions (and no, I am not talking about upacking the BSA files).

I have tried all the set stage commands and none of them work. I tried that command way back when I was stuck on the Thrane of Riften quest and it didn't work then either, only the complete quest command worked.

Can someone please help? I am completely stuck on the main quest.

Did you actually read the journal on Esbern you get in the Thalmor Embassy Torture chamber? Taking the Journal does NOT advance the quest (reading it does). As I recall you can't leave thru the trapdoor if you don't read it, but you CAN leave from the way you came in (I think).

Nope. I read it and left through the trapdoor.

Issue with the Diplomatic Immunity quest with the release of 1.4. I am on my 2nd run through this quest and have met with Malborn at the Stinking Skeever and answered the command to give him my gear fpr him to smuggle into the Thalmor Embassy. Problem is my marked Favorites are still on me after I said to take them. Then when I get into the Thalmor Embassy, and proceed with Malborn to where he placed all my equipment, there is nothing in the chest and it is no longer on my person. Has anyone seen this problem after software upgrade to 1.4? How do I fix this issue, except sneak into the Embassy through a back door, if that is possible?
