Disappointment from A - Z

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:59 pm

hard where to start, for a pc game its utterly disappointing.

single player:
- much to easy, thats killing all the fun. nightmare on the
- terrible textures (I've not played in 10 years a pc game with such muddy low level textures
- lineare missions: you're not even able to jump or climb over a 40 cm high wall or to pass a 2m gap in wall/fence. instead you have to follow the "way" which the level desingner had in mind
- defibrillator nonsense, no health points
- no manual to informe you about the different armours or vehicles
=> this whole single player mode makes you feel that you would play a cheap console game !!

multiplayer:
- no manual or introduction to explain how this whole scrap works. I will not go and begging aroud to ask for, or searching the forums to learn, how it works. thats just a faill.

ID guys are the biggest traitor to their former pc game fans, most of all Carmack. not only that they abandoned pc games to produce console scrap, they are even too lazy to write a short manual to explain especially the multiplayer part. to the moon with this company. so far that will be last ID game I have bought! the last wolfenstein was not better, just console scrap.

The best part of the game is the ragamania-card-game. it has a good explanation how it works, its simple, no muddy console textures, and a lot of fun.

Apparently, your standards are so low you would consider McDonald's a gourmet restaurant.

No, he just realizes that Rage is the only game with such impeccable enemy animations and behavior, great enemy variety, great variety of weapons, ammo types and gadgets, great vehicle mechanic, meaningful economy that makes it very RPG-like, unprecedented quality of environment, great mini games, level design, etc.etc.

Yes, the textures up close are horrible but they will release a hi-res texture pack, just like Crysis 2 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/directx11-pc-crysis-2/716871.

And yes, invisible walls are lazy game design and annoying but you are highly exaggerating the importance of all the negative stuff, Rage is definitely the best FPS I played in the last 10 years,

btw, you didn't even mention that Rage has zero physics...

That alone doesn't qualify for GOTY IMO.
Great Game play with replayability qualifies for GOTY IMO.

RAGE has great bells and whistles, but that's all. As far as game play goes, its nothing new, nothing original.

(P.S. One of each gun does not equal 'weapon variety' IMO.)

I think the weapon variety really comes into play by utilizing differnt ammo types.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day.
he was wanting a TDM DLC, but was saying that they would have to make more guns to satisfy, but really look at the different ammo types. They essentially make what you have in your arsenel other guns.
