1) I had Veronica as a companion and then dismissed her. Later went back to Trading post 188 to "rehire" her. She isn't there. Came back 9 days later (in game). She's still not there. She's also not where I dismissed her in the stip. Anywhere else she might be?

2) Tried to hire Cass. Did all the little missions for the Mohave Outpost and came back to talk to her. Her dialogue options haven't changed. Can't hire her. Did I miss a prerequisite or something? The Quest Heartache by the numbers looks dead - its no longer highlighted but not completed. What gives?

Veronica might possibly be over at the Lucky 38, if you have gotten that far ingame.

You cannot hire Cass til after you do the Crimson Caravan quests up through where you buy her caravan from her. You will know roughly the point you can get her to join you when you have to pass a 50 or 75 Speech/Barter check, and she will not be happy (or may refuse) if you have Very Evil karma.

Have you been into the Lucky 38 yet? I noticed that after a certain point your companions go to the Presidential Suite to wait instead of where you found them.

You have to do the jobs at Crimson Caravan before you can recruit Cass, not sure how you can fail that quest but I suppose it could be possible...

Okay. Thanks guys. I will check the Lucky 38 for Veronica. . .although I don't get why she would go there if dismissed. . .but logic has failed me in fallout before. . .so yeah. . .
